Een beetje licht in donkere dagen? / A little light in darker days?

That’s what I was thinking of when my eye caught this vase with Physalis. Here, in The Netherlands, we name this plant (literally translated) “Chinese lantern”. But would it be possible to make this plant in miniature……… ?

After I had thoroughly studied this plant, I decided to give it a try……so, this was number one of the small lanterns. Oh dear, still so many lanterns to go before I would get one branch full.
Phiew, I must have been mad........I am, but just a little ;)!

And after one day of figuring out how I possibly could do this job….I had one full branch.

This full vase was the result after one week of ‘slogging’ (if I got the time to work at it).

While I was making the small lanterns, I got the idea of adding more nuances in color, as you also can see in the real bouquet. So, perhaps this sunny orange color of the Physalis will bring you a bit of warm sunshine, at least it did for me :D!

Because of all ksort of things in RL I unfortunately have almost no time for blogging at the moment, I’m sorry.
A warm welcome to my new follower, thank you all for your kind comments and I wish you all a nice week :D!!

De herfst is nu echt begonnen... / Autumn has really started now...

Today it was quite cold in The Netherlands and this was also noticed by the birds, who came to my garden for some shelter and finding some food. They picked insects from every corner they could find and they also visited my Pyracantha, because of its flaming red berries J!

Here, in the countryside are lots of rowans at this moment, they're a good source of food for all kind of birds. That was one of the reasons for trying to create a rowan branch in miniature. Well, if I knew what I now know............it was quite fiddling ;)!

Suddenly I remembered me that I had a nice small vase, it’s made by Elisabeth Causeret. But looking it up in all of the mess took me some time ;)

After I’ve made blue hydrangeas, I wanted to make some with delicate pink flowers too. First of all I took a good look in my real garden for the colors (not this one, of course ;O), when I found this sleepy guy ;)!

Please, do forgive me the poor pictures of the delicate pink color. This pink color looks on the pictures so much brighter than it is in reality. I think that it is because of taking pictures on a very dark day as it was today……L.

Vliegenzwam / Fly agaric

Koraalzwammetje / Yellow Stagshorn

On my search for rowans (for taking some pictures), I stood nearly on this small fungus, glowing bright orange it stood there on a stump of a felled larch: beautiful, isn’t it?!
As usual, I want to say thank you for your nice comments, wishing you all a great week :D!!

Een bloemenfeetje met een doosje aquarelverf / A flower fairy with a box of watercolor paint

Voorkant en achterkant van dezelfde blaadjes
Front view and back view of the same petals

During my work in the garden I saw a beautiful flower of my hydrangea: there were different colors of petals at ONE flower head. I decided to cut them off and to photograph them in order to show you them. It seemed that there had been walking around a flower fairy with her tiny box of watercolors in my garden. Mother Nature gives us so much beauty, you just have to look around you to see all the beauty there is, isn’t it :D?!

So after I was back, sitting at my work table, I decided to make miniature hydrangeas. At first I tried to make blue ones, because that’s my favorite color J!

I’ve put them in this copper colored thimble, which I’ve recently found in the thrift store. I love the combination of these colors, it looks nice and warm.

Van bovenaf gezien / Seen from above

I’ve once bought this beautiful porcelain vase at the DHN miniature fair at Apeldoorn, it’s hand painted by Dieneke Boektje (http://www.hetporseleinenboek.nl/ ).
She is also at the DHN miniature fair in Ulft.

Making all those tiny petals is a very time-consuming job, that's why I have made just five blue hydrangea flowers. There is one pink hydrangea almost ready, I’ve put it next to the blue one in my self made flower basket.
Well, I’m going back to work, still lots to do and time flies ;O!

A warm welcome to my new followers and thank you all for your nice comments about Nina.
And yes, Jennifer: I think I’ll take her with me to the miniature fair in Ulft.
I wish you all a nice week :D!

Een steekje laten vallen / Dropping a stitch

Last June I’ve introduced you Nina: http://minimumloon.blogspot.nl/2015/06/geprobeerd-attempted.html do you remember? Well, after a lot of thinking I’ve decided to give her a more western style of clothing, so I’ve put my sewing stuff on the work table ;)! Of course, this young woman got a pair of jeans and after some thinking I decided to give her a striped sweater.

Some stitches on the cuffs of the sweater went loose after I pulled her the sweater over her head and of course, the fabric started to fray, well, that was not exactly what I wanted :(. So, I couldn’t do anything else than take up all stitches (and there were quite a lot) with a sewing needle and a fitting, colored thread.

Ah, that’s better and see here, how proud she is posing in her new clothes ;)!

Volgende onderwerp: haar kapsel.

Next subject: her hairdo. What color and what hairdo will I give her??
I chose for black hair, but I got immediately the next problem of what sort of hairdo…….

……krullen, vlechtjes, of rasta haar?
……curls, small braids, or rasta hair?

I thought that the last option would fit better at her personality, what do you think?

A few years ago on the miniature fair in Apeldoorn I’ve bought these laser cut eye glasses at the stand of Le mini di Pierluigi and now I used one of them. With a nice bright green color of nail polish Nina got a vivacious glasses on her nose :D!

A pair of golden butterflies, as earrings (I bought them at Sun: http://www.nalladris.com/a-37541497/vormen/4010-vlindertje/ also on the DHN fair in Apeldoorn) and Nina is ready to go!
Thank you for all of your nice comments, I wish you all a great rest of the week :D!

Pad-achtig / Toad-like

Okay, it’s time for a new blog post, oh my, time flies, especially when you’re very busy with a coming miniature show ;).
First of all, I want to say thank you all for your kind comments on my previous blog post :D!!
Here, in The Netherlands, autumn has arrived and after lots of rainy days and of being indoors, this morning I’ve decided to go out for a huge walk. Everything was still soaked wet of the plenty of rain from last night, so now lots of toadstools are growing everywhere and what kind of toadstools……..giants :D!

One of them in particular has caught my eye, this one:
It had a diameter of about 30 cm and the color was dark brown purple with a pale yellow edge. And the rough, but soft as velvet upper side of this fungus made me think of something else……

A few days ago I was busy in my garden when suddenly this toad appeared underneath a basket with garden waste. He crawled a bit sleepy over my garden path, so very slow that I could go indoors for grabbing quickly my photo camera.
The upper side of that big fungus let me think of the back side of this mister……..or is it a mrs? Well, no, before you ask: I didn’t checked……I thought I'll better leave him/her alone before he wants to be kissed LOL ;O!!

Since I have all kinds of miniatures in various stages of completion and there is nothing really ready to show on my blog, I'll show you only this one for today: a green frog. This one appeared a while ago from my Fimo clay and is ready to show it to you here.

I know that his forelegs are much too wide, but the smaller ones every time broke of his body after I touched him, so therefore this mister has ‘quite oversized’ forelegs LOL :D!
His eyes are made of 1 mm green glass no hole beads, on his Fimo body I’ve painted his skin with acrylic paint and afterwards the skin was painted with a glossy glaze for a ‘wet’ look.
I wish you all a nice week and I hope to see a bit more of the sun over here ;)!

Lang niet gezien! / Long time no see!

That was quite a huge nap, isn’t it ;O??
But I think that from time to time this can happen to everyone, isn't it? RL took me away of making miniatures. All kind of things together took more of my free time than I'd expected.
It was my intention to appear in the blog world for now and than, but that wasn't possible too, I’m sorry!
I want to say thanks to everyone who were so thoughtful for sending me an e-mail with the question if there was something wrong with me. Thankfully I'm feeling fine at this very moment, but I'm very, very busy. With what...?
Well, I've got a request to come to the international DHN miniatures fair in Ulft at the end of October 2015. This time not being a customer, but as a stand holder with my own home made miniatures! WOW, I'm still completely overwhelmed by this request :D!!

Nu iets nieuws in miniatuur.

Now something new in miniature.
Some of you will have been on vacation, so than you'll know that sometimes one of your plants won’t survive the good care of the person, who's taking care for them during your absence ^0^. Therefore there will also be withered miniature plants, so I’ve also made one. If you look well you can even see the gray color of the mildew ;)!

This summer was my neighbor woman my house carer, she took very good care for our house AND plants. As a thank you I gave her a so called ‘coffee cup’-bouquet, consisting of some delicate salmon pink colored roses, who are decorated with a few ivy leaves and tiny pearls (no hole beads of 1 mm) :D!!

Please, give me some time to return to the blog world, of course I can’t read everything of your blogs, therefore was my absence too long, accept my apologies for this.
Upon returning home from vacation I found a very beautiful bouquet of flowers from my daughter on my table. See here what her florist has made for me: a very distinctive, colorful and very artistic bouquet :D!
