most of you are back at work now…me too.
Toevallig kwam ik vorige week op de markt deze prachtige takken met knoppen van artisjokken tegen, ik heb er gelijk twee gekocht. Het was puur toeval, want sinds een poosje zocht ik nog een geschikte achtergrond om foto’s te maken van deze opdracht: het maken van 4 artisjokken bloemen, 2 gesloten knoppen en 2 open, bloeiende knoppen:
Last week on the weekly market, I accidentally came across these beautiful stems of artichoke buds, I bought instantly two of them. It was pure coincidence, because since a while I was looking for a suitable background for taking pictures of this commission: the making 4 artichoke flowers, 2 closed buds and 2 open, flowering buds:
Ik heb nog steeds moeite met het fotograferen van de
blauwpaarse kleur, en ondanks dat ik ze in de volle zon heb gelegd, blijft de
kleur op de foto’s véél te blauw.
In werkelijkheid zijn ze zachter, mooier van
kleur ;).
Voor mezelf heb ik er nog een verdorde artisjokbloem op
steel bij gemaakt, leek me wel leuk ;O!

I’ve still some trouble in taking pictures of the blue purple
color, and despite I’ve put them in full sun light, the color on the pictures
is way too blue.
In reality they are softer, much more beautiful in color ;).
I thought it would be nice for making myself a
dried/withered artichoke flower on a stem ;O!

Hier zijn wat foto’s genomen van mijn streek in
Oost-Nederland, tegenwoordig vanwege de voortdurende droogte “de woestijn
achter de IJssel” genaamd. Al het verdorde gras hoort groen te zijn…boeren
worstelen met mislukte oogsten, ook is er geen gras, of hooi voor hun vee in de
komende winter. Ze zullen het moeten kopen.
Tot nu toe hebben we 3 hittegolven gehad, en zelfs voor de
eerste keer in onze weergeschiedenis hebben we hier met 40,4 oC geworsteld. En
dát was heet, kan ik jullie vertellen!
Ondanks alles heb ik besloten dat het tijd was om het stof
van mijn blog te vegen en om zo nu en dan, als er iets van mijn opdrachten af
is, het hier te laten zien.
Voor het lezen van blogs of om reacties achter te laten, heb
ik (ook om privé redenen) helaas nog geen tijd, ik hoop op jullie begrip
hiervoor.

Here are some pictures taken in my region of The
Netherlands, which is nowadays named “the desert behind the river IJssel”,
because of the still coninuïng drought. All of the dried, yellow colored grass
ought to be green here in summer…farmers are strugling because of crop
failures, there’s also no gras, or hay and therefor no food for their cattle in
the coming winter. They'll have to buy it.
So far, we’ve had 3 heatwaves, and even for the first time
in our weather history we’ve here struggled with 40,4 dergrees Celsius, and I
can tell you that it was hot, very hot!
But despite all, I decided that it was time to whipe off the
dust of my blog, and for showing now and than (when there will be something
ready) my commissions.
For reading your blogs, or leaving a comment, I’m
unfortunaly still have no time (for private reasons too), I hope for your
understanding.
