Advocaatje met slagroom / Eggnog with whipped cream

Ik heb nog nèt, voor het einde van het jaar, huisgemaakte advocaat kunnen maken voor mijn mini Oma. Ze kan dit ‘vrouwendrankje’ serveren aan haar nieuwjaarsvisite, die met Nieuwjaarsdag zeker zullen komen met hun beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar. In de jaren ’50 was dit drankje populair onder de dames, dus moest ik dit echt in ’t miniatuur voor haar maken. En natuurlijk mét een flinke toef slagroom, want dat hoort er bij, (zelfgemaakt) lepeltje erin en klaar voor consumptie 😉!

Just in time, and before the end of the year, I've made homemade "advocaat" (a sort of alcoholic drink/eggnog)for my mini Grandma. On New Year’s Day she can serve this drink to her visitors, who will come with their best wishes for the New Year. In the 50s this alcoholic drink was popular among the ladies, so I really had to make this in miniature for her. And, of course, this drink has on top a huge amount of whipped cream, this is common here, in The Netherlands. Together with a self made tiny spoon, it's now ready to eat 😉!

As you can see, someone has already tasted some ;)

Samen met een soort dunne wafeltjes, ‘kniepertjes’ genaamd (dat is een traditioneel soort gebak in sommige streken van Nederland, zoals hier in de Achterhoek), zullen haar bezoekers op wat lekkers getrakteerd worden.

Wafeltjes/kniepertjes, de advocaat, toef slagroom en het flesje advocaat zijn allen door mijzelf gemaakt van Fimoklei. Het kleine lepeltje is geknipt uit een stukje aluminium (waxinelicht). Het 5 mm hoge (jenever)glaasje is gemaakt door Leo Reijnders, een Nederlandse glasblazer. Het plastic schaaltje heb ik onlangs op een miniaturenbeurs gekocht bij een Engelse stand, waarvan ik helaas de naam niet weet.

Together with a sort of oublies, named ‘kniepertjes’ (that is a traditional type of pastry in some regions of the Netherlands, such as here in the Achterhoek), her visitors will get real treats.

Oublies/’kniepertjes’, the eggnog, dot of whipped cream and the bottle of eggnog are all made by me, out of Fimo clay. The tiny spoon is cut out of a piece of aluminum (tea light). The 5 mm high tiny (gin) glass is made by a Dutch glass blower, Leo Reijnders. The plastic bowl is bought on a miniatures fair, from a English standholder, ofwhich I unfortunately don’t know their name.

Dit is Tante Doortje, een zelfgemaakt, nieuwe pop, binnenkort schrijf ik meer over haar.

Fijne Feestdagen allemaal / Happy Holidays to everyone

Vanmorgen in de stromende regen heb ik mijn laatste kerstboodschappen gedaan. Dus paraplu op, en dan zie je niet veel, dus loop ik daardoor bijna tegen deze twee 'vreemde' mannen op. Ze waren aan het trainen/hardlopen……perfect in stijl ;O)! 

Een van hen had zelfs nog een (kerstman)baard, hihihi, dáár word ik ondanks de regen nou vrolijk van :D!! Ik was zo overrompeld, dat ik pas een foto kon maken toen ze al bijna uit het zicht waren gerend…

Early this morning I did my last Christmas shopping in the pouring rain. I had to put up my umbrella and didn't see much, so I almost bumped against these two 'odd' men. They were training/running ……perfectly in style; O)! 

One of them even had a (Santa Claus) beard, hihihi, that’s something I can laugh about, despite the pouring rain :D!! I was so surprised by seeing them that I only still could take a photo after they almost ran away out of sight...

Afgelopen zondag mocht ik mijn 4^e Advent kadootje van Birgit (haar blog: https://biwubaer.blogspot.com/ )  openmaken, erin zaten een prachtig doosje met overheerlijke Lindt bonbons en 4 tijdschriften. Maar het waren niet zomaar tijdschriften, het waren drie “1 zu 12” Duitse miniaturentijdschriften én een Spaans tijdschrift, “Miniaturas”.

Last Sunday, the 4th Sunday of Advent, I opened my gift, which I got of Birgit (her blog: https://biwubaer.blogspot.com/ ), in it were a wonderful box of delicous Lindt chocolates and 4 magazines. But it were not common magazines, it were three “1 zu 12” magazines (German) and one Spanish magazine, “Miniaturas”. 

Als eerste opende ik het Spaanse Miniaturas en tot mijn verbazing stond er een artikel in over mijn werk, zelfs twee complete pagina’s, wow!! Eind september had de hoofdredactrice, Madelva Fernandez, al contact met mij hier over opgenomen en had ik haar foto’s gestuurd van mijn werk. Ik was ontzettend druk en het was vlak voor de laatste DHN-show, waar we elkaar ook nog even gesproken hebben.

Maar aangezien ik geen abonnement heb op tijdschriften over miniaturen, wist ik dus niet dat het al in oktober gepubliceerd was (Madelva: heel hartelijk bedankt voor het publiceren van mijn werk!!).

En nu kwamen ze alsnog naar mij toe, als speciale kerstkadootjes van mijn lieve, attente blogvriendin Birgit :D.

Lieve Birgit, heel veel dank voor deze bijzondere Kado's, ik ben hier heel erg blij mee!

First I opened the Spanish Miniaturas and to my surprise there was an article about my work, even two complete pages, wow !! At the end of September the editor, Madelva Fernandez, had already contacted me about this and I had sent her pictures of my work. I was so very busy, it was just before the last DHN show, where we also met each other.

But since I don't have a subscription to magazines about miniatures, I didn't know it was published already in October (Madelva: thank you very much for publishing my work!!).

And now they came to me as special Christmas gifts from my dear, thoughtful blog friend Birgit: D. Dearest Birgit, many thanks for these special gifts, I am over the moon with your great gifts!

En in twee edities van het Duitse magazine “1 zu 12” stond in het afgelopen jaar ook al wat van mijn miniatuurwerk, ik ben er ontzettend blij mee.

And two editions of the German magazines “1 zu 12” of this past year were also showing some of my miniature work, I’m so very happy with this.

Mijn keuze aan “sierraden” voor Kerst / My choice of “jewelry” for Christmas

Nou, ik heb mijn keuze uit sierraden voor Kerst kunnen maken……dus niet: te veel keuze ;O)!

Op de volgende foto’s staat mijn nieuwste collectie kerstdecoratie, die ik de afgelopen weken heb gemaakt. Het was erg veel werk, maar ik ben best tevreden met het resultaat.

Well, I’ve made my choice of jewelry for Christmas……so NOT: too much choice ;O)!

On the following pictures is my newest collection of Christmas decoration, which I made in the past weeks. It was a lot of work, but I’m quite satisfied with the result.

Een doos met zilveren ballen, eentje met gouden versiering (beiden soorten kerstballen zijn 6 mm in doorsnede) en een doos met van alles en nog wat. Hierin zit een mix van paddenstoeltjes, parelmoer kerstballen, vogeltjes en eikeltjes.

One box with silver baubles, one with golden baubles (both sort of baubles have a diameter of 6 mm) and a box with all sort of things. The last box contains a mix of mushrooms, mother-of-pearl baubles, birds and acorns.

Deze grote “glazen” (nep) kerstbal is geschikt om op een deur of aan een krans te hangen. Het is met 8 mm in diameter de grootste van de verzameling. Het zit in een vierkant doosje van 10 x 10 x 10 mm.

This large “glass” (fake) Christmas bauble is suitable for hanging on a door, or at a wreath. It’s the largest one of the collection, it measures 8 mm in diameter. It is in a square box of 10 x 10 x 10 mm.

Kerstballen zijn 6 mm in doorsnede / Baubles are 6 mm in diameter

Deze zilveren en gouden kerstballen (6 mm) hebben allemaal een nail-art sticker als versiering, je kunt het echter bijna niet zien door het reflecterende daglicht.

Mijn fototoestel maakt niet meer zulke mooie foto’s, het is dan ook al meer dan 10 jaar oud….misschien is ‘t tijd voor een nieuwe??

These silver and golden baubles (6 mm) are decorated with nail-art stickers, but you hardly can’t see it because of the reflection of the daylight.

My camera can’t take such wonderful pictures anymore, it’s more than 10 years old….maybe it’s time for a new one??

Ik heb ook nieuwe kerstslingers gemaakt en ik vond nog 'kralen'-snoeren, in zilver en goud.

Op bovenstaande foto's staat de hele verzameling tesamen!

I've also made new Christmas garlands and I still found 'beaded' decorations, in silver and gold.

Afgelopen zondag, 4^e Adventsdag, mocht ik weer een Adventskadootje uit de doos, die ik van Birgit kreeg, openmaken, kijk eens!

De miniatuur kerstboom versieren / Decorating the Christmas tree in miniature

Eindelijk kan ik hier weer eens wat nieuws in miniatuur laten zien: kerstversiering in miniatuur!

Ik ben er al weken mee bezig, het is namelijk erg tijdrovend om zó klein te werken, maar het is gelukt :)!

Finally, I can show you here something new in miniature: Christmas decoration in miniature!

I’ve been working on it for weeks now, it’s namely quite timeconsuming to work that small, but I did it :)!

In deze blogpost laat ik jullie twee sets met kerstballen zien van 4 mm in doorsnede. 

Een set in zilver, en eentje in goud.

In this blogpost I’ll show you two sets of Christmas baubles of 4 mm in diameter. 

One set baubles in silver, and one in gold.

Eerst heb ik de doosjes gemaakt, ze meten 15 x 15 mm en zijn 5 mm hoog. De deksels zijn ietsje ruimer 16 x 16 mm, eentje is er versierd met een kerstkous (nail art sticker), voor de andere heb ik een hele oude papierpons met kerstklokken gebruikt, plús op de hoekjes twee hulstblaadjes (nail art stickers). Achter het open gedeelte heb ik een stukje transparant plastic van de verpakking geplakt, zodat je de kerstballen kunt zien liggen in het vloeipapier.

First I made the boxes, they measure 15 x 15 mm and are 5 mm in height. The lids are slightly wider 16 x 16 mm, one is decorated with a Christmas stocking (nail art sticker), for the other one I used a very old paper punch of Christmas bells, PLUS two holly leaflets on the corners (also nail art stickers). Behind the open part I glued a tiny piece of transparant plastic (from a packaging), so that you can see the baubles lieing in the tissue paper.

Elke doos heeft een vakverdeling van zeer dun karton, zodat er 9 kerstballen van 4 mm in kunnen liggen. Elke opening kreeg een 10 x 10 mm velletje van vloeipapier om de kerstbal tegen stoten/breken te beschermen.

Each box is divided in segments, made of very thin cardboard, so that it can hold 9 Christmas balls of 4 mm diameter. Each opening got a 10 x 10 mm sheet of tissue paper in it, to protect the Christmas bauble from bumping/breaking.

Hier kun je de kerstballen van dichtbij zien, de foto’s zijn extra vergroot.

Here you can see the baubles closeby, the pictures are extremely enlarged.

In elke doos zitten 5 gewone kerstballen én 4 beschilderde ballen met sneeuw op de top, ik hoop dat je het kunt zien…?

In every box are 5 common baubles AND 4 painted baubles with a top of snow, I hope you can see it…?

Stoeiend met de nail art stickertjes , kwam ik op het idee om mijn eigen glazen kersthangertjes na te maken. Hiervoor heb ik een plastic sheet gebruikt (modelbouwwinkel), een ronde papierpons (van 5 mm in diameter) en die beplakt met twee gouden sneeuwvlokken.

While I was using these nail art stickers, I came up with the idea of copying in miniature my own glass Christmas decorations in RL. For this I used a plastic sheet (model trains store), a round model paper punch (of 5 mm in diameter) and covered it with two golden snowflakes.

Het plastic hart en de ster zijn beschilderd met respectievelijk goud- en zilverkleurige nagellak, maar dat is op de foto niet zo mooi te zien. Ik heb geen idee hoe dat kan..?

The plastic heart and star are respectively painted with gold and silver colored nail polish, but you can't see it well on the pictures. I don’t know how come..?

Hier zie je de zilveren kerstballen hangen aan een écht kerstbalhaakje. Hiervoor moest ik nieuwe miniatuur haakjes maken (zie gele pijl op de foto), want de 1:12 kerstbalhaakjes pasten helemaal níet op de 1:1 haak, ze waren te klein ;O)!

De 1:12 haakjes zitten in een papieren envelop/zakje bij de kerstballen in het doosje.

Here you see the silver baubles, hanging on a 1:1 hook for reallife Christmas baubles. For doing this, I had to make new miniature hooklets (see the yellow arrow on the picture), because the 1:12 hooklets didn’t fit on the 1:1 hook, they were too small ;O)!

The 1:12 hooklets are in a tiny paper envelope/bag together with the Christmas baubles in the box.

Hier zijn twee pieken voor boven in de kerstboom, in zilver en in goud. De gouden heeft ook een nail art stickertje, als versiering gekregen ;). Alle pieken zijn tussen de 18-20 mm lang.

Here are two decoration pieces, which probably will not be known by some of my foreign readers, these are named in Dutch "piek", but unfortunately I can't find the English word for these pieces. Anyway, they go in the top of the Christmas tree, where the most of you will put the star, or an angel. The golden "piek" has also got a nail art sticker, as decoration ;). All "pieken" are in between 18-20mm in length.

Tja, één is er kapot gevallen, het is dan ook vrijdag de 13e, hè ;O)?! 
Ooh, one fell and is broken, well, it IS Friday the 13th, isn't it ;O) ?!

Ik ben nòg meer kerstversiering aan het maken, jullie kunnen het binnenkort zien!

Vorige week vond ik in mijn eigen tuin nog een soort van “kerstversiering”, gratis van Moeder Natuur, mooi hè?!
