After a just a tiny bit of trimming here and there and after
I had made the pompom in the middle nice and full and dense, it went on the
baby bonnet. Now I am happy with how the baby bonnet looks 😊.
It now stands proudly on the dresser in the nursery...along
with a pair of baby booties. I crocheted these baby booties about 10 years ago for a
commission, so that was good luck.
Vorig weekeinde, voordat mijn kleindochter was geboren, heb
Sinterklaas printje eroverheen.
Last weekend, before my granddaughter was born, I went to
the theater with my daughter and grandson. We saw the theater performance
called “Warboels Sinterklaasfeest”, it was great fun and at the end we also saw
Sinterklaas, who came to visit! My grandson was completely crazy, what a party,
so also my daughter and I enjoyed it soooo much!
Unfortunately I have to respect the privacy of my
(grand)children, therefore no pictures of the grandchildren on my blog, so I'll just
put one with a Sinterklaas print over his happy face.
More information about the figure Sinterklaas (Saint
Nicholas): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas
Note: "Black" Petes, mentioned on this Wikipedia page, have since some time been changed to
soot-smeared Petes, who have some soot stains on their faces, and the rod has
not been used for years, so this figure has been adapted to modern times.
volgende keer!
In the meantime I am almost finished with the composition of
the baby roombox, so just wait a little longer for the result, I hope to see
you soon!
Thanks for reading my blog, the nice comments, until next
time!

I really had to smile about picture 5... is it just me (who somehow has a tendency to see "things" in things) or does this installation look like the beginning of a funny animal? *LOL*
I read what you wrote about the making of this pompon and I can truly imagine what you're talking about but I will never fully understand how you managed to achieve this challenge. But what counts is that the hole is shut... and in the best way ever possible. I love how this fluffy pompon with its matching pastel colours looks on this tiny bonnet. And my, having such tiny crocheted shoes right at hand being stored for that one day in the future which happened to be right now... that's what I call good luck.
And speaking about bonnets, it made me smile to see that the kids visiting the theater including your gandson were wearing costumes and especially typical hats. Seems you've had loads of fun together - making sweet family memories to last forever.
And now excuse me... but could you please, PLEASE put the lid back again on that diaper bucket??? It became a bit smelly here... However... I'm a bit disappointed... no shades of ocre shining through on the waste diapers? Ah, now I see... that's still on your to-do-list... *grin*
Hugs - and enjoy Advent 1st, even more as this day will be very special for you this year. Oh... and don't forget to check the checklist! *wink*

Besos.
The hat is so cute with the pompon, I love it. And the booties are amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed roombox.

You have made cute baby knits :)
Dear Ilona, your teeny tiny pompom is absolutely Perfect!!! I would not have made it that way... I just would have tied together the threads and "hoped" they puffed out right in the end! :):) But you are amazing!! And those tiny booties are unbelievable!!! Wow! This baby room box is going to be a true work of art! I can't wait to see it! :):):)
