Helemaal niets / Totally nothing

Hallo iedereen!! Ik hoop dat het goed met jullie gaat?

Ondanks mijn beste bedoelingen is er van het volgen van jullie blogs, tijdens mijn blog pauze, totaal niets terecht gekomen. Dat kwam door een fikse hittegolf die hier 18 dagen huis heeft gehouden en zoals jullie weten, is mijn gezondheid hier niet tegen bestand. Daarna kreeg mijn partner gezondheidsproblemen (gelukkig niet Corona gerelateerd), maar beiden namen al mijn vakantie weken in augustus én de helft van september in beslag. Trouwens, mijn partner voelt zich nu weer goed.

Met andere woorden, ik heb helemaal niets kunnen doen aan miniatuurwerk. Pas in de laatste weken heb ik weer wat werk in miniatuur opgepakt, het is voor een opdracht. Het is nog niet af, maar je kunt er op bovenstaande foto al wel iets van zien ;).

Despite my best intentions, for following your blogs during my blog break, I was not able to do so. That was caused due to a longtime heat wave that stayed with us for 18 days and as you know, my body is not quite able to cope with heat. Next to that my partner started having health problems (thankfully not Corona related), but both impounded all my vacation weeks in August and even the half of September. By the way, hubby is fine now.

In other words, I wasn't able to do anything of miniature work. Only in the last few weeks I've picked up some work in miniature again, it is for a commission. It's not finished yet, but at the above picture you can see a bit of it ;).

Omdat ik nog een restant van afgeknipte franjes van het tafelkleed had liggen heb ik in juli nog een theemuts in miniatuur gemaakt voor mijn mini oma. De franje restjes zijn gebruikt als vulling, om de theepot lekker warm te houden. Het stofje is een stukje stof (4 x 4 cm) dat komt uit de zak restanten van de quiltwinkel, waarover ik al eerder vertelde.
De binnenzijde is gemaakt van een klein stukje voeringstof, beiden zijn met piepkleine steekjes in en aan elkaar gezet.
 
Because I still had leftovers of making fringes to the table cloth, I’ve made, in July, a tea cozy form y mini grandma. The leftovers of the fringes are used for filling up the upper part, for keeping the tea pot nicely warm. The piece of fabric (4 x 4 cm) is from a bag of leftovers of the quilt shop, I told you about it in a previous blog post.
The inside is made of a small piece of lining fabric, both are put in and together with teeny tiny stitches.

Mini Oma heeft een prachtige theepot van me gekregen, het is gemaakt door de getalenteerde Franse dame, Elisabeth Causeret. 

Mini Grandma got a beautiful tea pot from me, it’s made by the talented lady, madame Elisabeth Causeret.

En wat zie je nogal eens aan de binnenkant van de theemuts…….? Juist, theevlekken (gemaakt met echte thee vóórdat de vulling in de muts werd genaaid)!

Aan de buitenkant zie je vaak ‘pakvlekken’ (de vaste plek waaraan iemand de theemuts optilt van de pot), en die heb ik er ook maar op gemaakt ;).

And what do you see sometimes on the inside of the teacozy…..? Of course, tea stains (I made these by using real tea before the lining fabric was sewed into the outer hood ;)!

At the outside you often can see ‘touch spots’ (the favorite spot of where someone lifts the tea cozy of the pot), and so I marked this spot on the outer hood ;).

Deze weg is geflankeerd door beukenbomen van tientallen jaren oud, die in augustus al hun blad hebben verloren, inmiddels zijn er tientallen doodgegaan...

This road is flanked by beech trees of decades-old, which already lost all their leaves in August, now dozens have died ...

Weiden zijn niet langer meer groen in augustus...

Nou, dit was een kort bericht, gewoon om ‘hallo’ te zeggen en dat ik vanaf nu weer ga proberen jullie blogs te bezoeken/lezen en een reactie achter te laten.

Hier in mijn regio heeft het, na een al heel droog voorjaar, al lang niet meer geregend en dat is te zien buiten. De koeien staan meestentijds op stal, bij gebrek aan gras in de nu kurkdroge, zonverbrande dorre weiden, de bomen verliezen al weken blad, of zijn gezwicht en afgezaagd, de vennen/sloten staan droog, de bodemvegetatie ervan is verdwenen, de akkervelden zijn al kaal want de mais/aardappel/bietenoogst is mislukt en ga zo maar door. Van onze altijd groene regio is weinig tot niets meer over, reden tot grote bezorgdheid bij boeren en andere mensen, zoals natuurliefhebbers, zoals ik.

In het westen van Nederland laait het virus weer ernstig op, komt de gevreesde tweede golf er aan…?

Hoe dan ook, blijf veilig en zorg goed voor anderen en jezelf. Denk om de restricties/maatregelen, die er getroffen zijn, want daar ontbreekt het heel vaak aan, merk ik persoonlijk.

Well, this was a short blog post, just to say ‘hello’ and that I will try to visit/read your blogs again and leave you a comment.

Here, in my region of The Netherlands, it did not rain, also after a very dry spring, and outdoors that shows. The cows are in their stables, duet o the lack of grass in the cork dry,

Most of the time the cows are now in their stable, due to a lack of grass in the now bone-dry, sunburnt and barren meadows, the trees have been losing leaves for weeks, or have succumbed to the third hot summer in a row and are sawn off, the fens/ditches are dried up, therefore their ground vegetation has disappeared , the fields are already bare (usually the corn is harvested in mid-October), because the corn/potato/beet harvest has failed and so on. Little is left of our beautiful evergreen region, so there is cause for great concern among farmers and other people, such as nature lovers, like me.

At the West side of The Netherlands, the Corona virus flares seriously up again, will there be a second dreaded wave……? Whatever it will be, stay safe and take good care for others and yourself. Take care for the restrictions, which your government has ordonated, because personally I see that lots of people, who don’t mind about it.
