Licht in de duisternis… / Light in the darkness…

 

Aan het begin van deze week kwam de postbode met een flinke doos voor mij, het kwam van mijn lieve blog vriendin Birgit, haar blog: https://biwubaer.blogspot.com

Omdat er nogal wat deuken in de kartonnen doos zaten, heb ik hem opengemaakt om te zien of er niets kapot was gegaan tijdens het transport, maar nee, alles was gelukkig in orde.

Een stuk krantenpapier dat als opvulling van de gaten zorgde, trok onmiddellijk mijn blik: ook de Kerstman zal dit jaar op afstand aanwezig zijn en niet alleen in Sleeswijk-Holstein, leuke vondst, hè 😊?!

 

At the beginning of this week the postman came to me with a big box, it came from my dearest blog friend Birgit, her blog: https://biwubaer.blogspot.com

Since there were quite a few dents in the cardboard box, I opened it to see if nothing broke during its trip to here, but no, luckily everything was fine.

A piece of newspaper, that filled in the gaps between the gifts, immediately caught my eye: Santa Claus will also be present at a distance this year and I think not only in Schleswig-Holstein, nice find, huh 😊?!

Vandaag is het de eerste Adventszondag en heb ik de doos geopend om daarin een prachtige zelfgemaakte kerstkaart te vinden, samen met twee pakjes om uit te pakken op deze dag.

 

Today is the first Sunday of the Advent and I opened the box to find a beautiful homemade Christmas card in it, along with two packages to unwrap on this day. 

Birgit is geen onbekende in de blogwereld en is altijd in voor een geintje, dus vond ik ook een checklijst in de doos. Zo kan ik conform een lijst alles bij elkaar zoeken wat er voor elke Adventszondag in de doos zit. Die lijst heeft Birgit speciaal voor mij toegevoegd want in het verleden werd er nog al eens iets door mij over het hoofd gezien. Ik ben namelijk niet zo iemand die een doos helemaal uitpluist tot in alle kiertjes en gaatjes en daardoor miste ik hele kleine, maar waardevolle kadootjes. Vanaf die tijd neemt Birgit mij graag op de hak en schrijft steevast een lijst, mèt vakjes ervoor zodat ik alles kan afvinken, én waar ik naar moet zoeken, die olijkerd…….ouwe dametjes op de hak nemen, hè, hihihihi, maar ze weet ook: ik ben altijd wel “in” voor een geintje, dus…. 😄!!!!

 

Birgit is no stranger to our blog world and is always up for a joke, so I also found again a check list in the box. This way I can find everything together according to a list what is in the box for each Advent Sunday. Birgit added that list especially for me because in the past something was often overlooked by me. I am not the kind of person who sifts through a box all the way through all the cracks and holes and because of that I missed in past years very small but valuable gifts. From that time on Birgit likes to make a fool of me and now everytime writes a check list, with squares in front of it so that I can tick everything off, and of what I have to look for, Birgit, that joker.......making a fool of old ladies, like me, but you also have to know: I too, am always “in” for a joke….😄!!!!

Het eerste kadootje is een mooie mobiele hanger met vrolijke sneeuwmannetjes, die je voor het raam kunt hangen, kijk maar. En juist op dat moment kwam er een nieuwsgierig tweetal kijken wat er aan de hand was….

 

The first gift is a lovely mobile hanger of happy snowmen, which can be hang in front of the window, see here. And just then, a curious pair came to see what was going on….

...maar deze twee waren nieuwsgierig naar het andere kadootje, de beroemde BiWuBear adventskalender en waarschijnlijk met maar één doel, natuurlijk: de lekkerste chocolaatjes, die daar in zitten 😁.

 

...but these two were more curious to see the other present, the famous BiWi Bear advent calendar and probably with only one purpose, of course: the most delicious chocolates, which are hidden in that calendar 😁.

Birgit heeft ook dit jaar weer iets moois gemaakt van haar adventskalender, kijk zelf maar. Schepje en Kleine Ikke hebben alles laten vallen: de slee en schaatsen waren al van zolder gehaald, want het heeft hier een paar nachtjes gevroren. Vandaag is het koud maar zonnig en omdat ze weten dat ik een SUPER fan ben van de winter (die de laatste jaren maar niet wilde komen) dachten ze me te verrassen. Maar na het zien van de Adventskalender werd er bliksemsnel de ladder van de boerderij gehaald, anders kun je natuurlijk geen chocolaatjes te pakken krijgen *LOL*…
Lieve Birgit, héél véél dank voor het toezenden van zulk mooi “licht in de duisternis” én voor je warme vriendschap en voor het sturen van zoveel vrolijkheid. Ik zal op mijn beurt alles netjes volgens de lijst afwerken, hoor 😬😇!!
 
This year Birgit has again made something beautiful of her advent calendar, see for yourself. Schepje and Little Me have dropped everything: the sledge and skates had already been taken from the attic, because it had been freezing here for a few nights. Today it’s cold but sonny and because they know that I am a SUPER fan of the winter (who has not wanted to come in recent years) they thought they would surprise me. But after seeing the Advent calendar of Birgit, the ladder was quickly taken from the farm, otherwise you can't get hold of chocolates *LOL* ...
Dearest Birgit, thank you so very much for sending such beautiful “light in the darkness” and for your warm friendship and for sending us so much joy. I will, in turn, tick off everything neatly according to your list 😬😇!!

En nèt voordat ik deze blog ging schrijven, kreeg ik een foto van mijn kleinzoontje toegestuurd: het eerste kaarsje van de Advent mag branden, kijk eens wat lief 💝💙!!
