Deze keer een kort bericht: ik heb nog een paar nieuwe miniatuur bloemen gemaakt voor de DHN-show van komend weekend (30 sept./1 okt.)…

This time a short message: I’ve made some new miniature flowers for the coming DHN-show of coming weekend (30 Sept./ 1 Oct.)…

…nieuwe 17^e eeuwse gestreepte tulpen, een keizerskroon en een paar goudsbloemen.

Het bord is gemaakt door Henny Staring-Egberts.

Tot slot heb ik een van de ontkiemende kokosnoten in een pot gezet en dan zo, dat er geen verlies in detail (wortelhaar) is ;O!

Nu verder met de voorbereidingen voor de show van komende weekend, druk, druk, druk, maar ik heb er echt zin in!

Finally, I’ve put one of the sprouting coconuts in a flower pot and in a way that there's no loss of detail (root hair) ;O!

Now I’m off, busy, busy, busy with my preparations for the show next weekend, but I love it!

Puur gekkenwerk…? / Sheer madness…?

Tja, je moet een beetje ‘gek’ zijn, als je iets speciaals wilt bereiken, toch ;)?

Dit heb ik heel wat keren tegen mezelf gezegd, als ik het zoveelste bloemblaadje aan het beschilderen was. Maar ik ben wel tevreden over het resultaat, dat dan weer wél :D!

Well, you have to be a little crazy, if you want to achieve something special, right ;)? I've said this many times to myself, while I was painting on teeny tiny stripes one after another petal. But I am quite satisfied with the result, yes, I really am :D!

Voor wie dat nog niet wist: 17e eeuwse tulpen hadden onregelmatige, rode strepen op hun bloemblaadjes vanwege een virus.

For who didn’t know yet: 17th century tulips had irregular, red stripes on their petals as a result of a virus. For more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_breaking_virus

Na het maken van de derde tulp vond ik het tijd om eens een mooi vaasje op te zoeken, deze is gemaakt door Elisabeth Causeret.

After finishing the third tulip I thought it was time to look for a nice vase, this one is made by Elisabeth Causeret.

Als de tulpen in de vaas staan kun je goed zien dat ze (als je ze vanuit een ander hoek bekijkt) er telkens anders uit zien.

When the tulips are in the vase you can see well (if you look at them from a different angle) that each time they look different.

Maar als ze plat op tafel liggen, kun je ze het beste zien…..

But when they lay flat on the table, you can see them best…..

……kijk zelf maar!

Thank you for your nice comments, I wish you all a nice Pentecost weekend. But here, in The Netherlands, it seems we'll get a very cold Pentecost, according the weather forecast. Well, we'll see… ;)!
