Meer van wit… / More of white…

Vorige week kondigde Fabiola, of  http://fabiolamiominimondo.blogspot.com  de winnaar aan van haar verrassingsgiveaway, ter ere van de derde verjaardag van haar blog: dat was ik :D!! Twee dagen later lag de enveloppe al in de bus, dát was zooo snel. Fabiola had er een mooie linnen zelf geborduurde handdoek en bijpassend kleedje in gedaan, dank je wel Fabiola!

Last week Fabiola, http://fabiolamiominimondo.blogspot.com   announced the winner of her surprise giveaway, because of her 3th blog anniversary: it was me :D!! Just two days later the envelope was here in my mail box, that was very quick. Fabiola sent me this nice linen towel and this linen doily, which were embroidered by herself, thank you very much, Fabiola!

Het andere wit, nou, dat was een ander miniatuur avontuur….naaldvilten. Ik had dit nog nooit gedaan en wilde het altijd al eens proberen, ik zag zulke mooie resultaten op allerlei blogs. Dus toen er een paar maanden geleden een pakketje voor naaldvilten in de uitverkoop lag, heb ik het gekocht. Er zat een summiere uitleg bij en ik dacht: ik kan het altijd eens proberen.

The other of white, well, that’s an other miniature adventure…..needle felting. I’ve never done this before and I wanted to try it ever, because I saw such wonderful results of needle felting on all kind of blogs. So, a few months ago there was a small basic package for needle felting in the drugstore, it was in the bargain corner, so I’ve bought it. In the package was a brief explanation of the technique and I thought: I can always give it a try.

Maar wát zou ik dan eens van die wol gaan maken? Eerst maar eens wat plukjes wol gewoon plat gevilt. Misschien heb ik te diep in het schuimkussentje geprikt, want de wol begon net op een wit harig vachtje lijken…….?

Zo kon het gebeuren dat mijn viltnaald een eigen leven ging leiden……..toen kwam er  een soort kruis tevoorschijn…? Wacht, als ik hem zou vouwen, dan kon het wel eens een stoeltje worden :D!

But whát would I like to make of this wool? First I needle felted some tufts of wool flat on the foam. Perhaps I pricked too deep in the foam cushion, because the wool just started to look like a white fur coat….?

That way it could happen that my felting needle went its own way……..then there appeared a kind of cross…? Wait the minute, if I would fold it, than it was possible that it became a small chair :D!

Omdat het zo harig werd, kwam er gelijk een idee bij me op: het zou een stoeltje voor mijn sneeuwpopbeertje, Schepje worden. Hij is voor mij gemaakt door Birgit van http://biwubaer.blogspot.com en hij heeft net zo’n vachtje ;)! Eens kijken hoe dat vormen van wol zou gaan en langzaamaan kwamen er een hoofdje, een staartje en paar armpjes tevoorschijn. Die delen kon ik misschien ook wel aan het stoeltje vast vilten ;)?

Maar toen had ik een probleempje: Schepje heeft helemaal geen beentjes……wat nu te doen?

Because it was so hairy, I got an idea: it would become a small chair for my snowman beary, Schepje. He is created for me by Birgit of http://biwubaer.blogspot.com and his fur coat looks just like this wool ;)! Let’s see, how I can make shapes out of wool and slowly there emerged to me a small head, a tail  and a pair of arms. Maybe I could needle felt them onto the small chair ;)?

But then I had a small problem: Schepje has no legs…..what to do now?

Toen kreeg ik een leuk ideetje: een relaxfauteuil voor hem te maken, zo eentje met een voetensteun en die inklapbaar is :D!

Then I got a funny idea: to make a chair for relaxing, like those with a footrest, which is foldable too :D!

Eerst wilde ik de zitting vast vilten aan de stoel. Maar omdat Schepje geen beentjes heeft, besloot ik van de zitting en de voetensteun twee in één te maken. De zitting is de voetensteun, als hij uitgeklapt is. Ingeklapt en zonder Schepje lijkt het net een echte fauteuil, wat een gelukkige vondst :D LOL!

First I wanted needle felting the seat fastened to the base of the chair. But because Schepje has no legs I decided for making a two-in-one of the seat and the footrest. The seat is a footrest too, if it is unfolded. If it is folded in and Schepje is not sitting on the chair, the chair looks like a real fauteuil, it was just a lucky find :D LOL!

Maar hoe het voelt om ‘op schoot’ te zitten van je dubbelganger in wol vilt, dát kan alleen Schepje ons vertellen. Ik wed dat het kriebelt ;)!

Trouwens: weet iemand hoe ik die uitstekende haren van deze stoel kan verwijderen? Kan ik ze afscheren, of zo??

But how it will feel to sit ‘on the lap’ of your needle felted look-alike, that is something only Schepje can tell us. I bet it tickles ;) LOL!

By the way: can somebody tell me how I can get rid of the protruding hairs from this chair? Do I have to shave them off….??

Gelukkig had ik wel een plukje zwarte wol. Maar jammer genoeg had ik niet een heel klein plukje rode wol (zat niet in het pakketje :( ) om er ook nog een hartje op de rugleuning van zijn stoel te naaldvilten, dat zou pas echt leuk zijn…..

…..maar kijk, daar is ie dan mét zijn quiltje om eventjes te gaan relaxen in zijn nieuwe stoel, zie ze lachen naar ons!

Luckily I had a tuft of black wool. But unfortunately I did not have a very small tuft of red wool (not included in the package : ( ) for still felting a little heart on the back of his chair, that would be really nice….

....but look, there he is with his small quilt to relax a bit in his new chair, look how they laugh to us!
