MiniMumLoon: 1:12 miniatuur quilt / 1:12 miniature quilt

Vorige week heb ik lekker veel gewandeld in het prachtige gebied, waar ik woon. Dat was vóórdat het zo koud en erg nat weer werd! Veel boeren waren op het land bezig en er werd al gras gemaaid om te verwerken tot kuilvoer. De kort gemaaide weilanden hebben dan een bijna witte, heel lichtgroene kleur. De grote akkers (pas geploegd en ingezaaid) liggen afwisselend naast de grote weilanden en dan lijken ze samen net op bonte lapjes van een enorme lappendeken. Alle aard en groentinten zijn dan vertegenwoordigd :D!

Last week I enjoyed of my walkings through the beautiful region, where I live. That was before the weather did change into too cold and very very wet! Lots of farmers had been busy on their fields and the grass was already mowed in order to process it into silage. The color of the shortly mown meadows changed into a nearly white, very light green color. The large fields (newly plowed and sown) lie alternately between the large meadows and together they look just like the colored patches of a huge patchwork. All colors of earth and green are represented :D!

Afgelopen week heb ik een begin aan mijn eigen (miniatuur) lappendekentje gemaakt van katoenen stukjes stof. Een hele tijd geleden heb ik op een blog gezien hoe ik dat moet maken, maar ik kan me absoluut niet meer herinneren op welk blog ik deze tutorial heb gezien. Als een van jullie me misschien kan helpen, dan kan ik het hier vermelden.

Last week I started my own (miniature) patchwork, it's made of small pieces of cotton fabric. I ever have seen how to make this, but I absolutely can not remember on which blog I’ve seen this tutorial. If someone of you can tell me on which blog this tutorial is, please, tell me, than I can put the link of this blog here.

Eerst heb ik allemaal vierkantjes van 1 x 1 cm gesneden uit de kaft van een oud telefoonboek. Daarna heb ik lapjes geknipt van 2 x 2 cm. De lapjes worden één voor één om de papieren vierkantjes genaaid met rijggaren.

First I've cut small squares of 1 x 1 cm out of a cover of an old telephone directory. Than I cutted small patches of fabric of 2 x 2 cm. The patches are one by one sewn with tacking thread around the small paper squares.

Dan naai je de lapjes aan elkaar (in de lengte) en daarna naai je de banen aan elkaar tot een quiltje.

Then you can sew the patches to each other (lengthwise) and then you sew these rows together as a quilt.

Hierna pers je eerst het quiltje op met een mini (quilt) strijkijzer, daarna kun je voorzichtig de papieren vierkantjes verwijderen.

Now you first have to press the quilt with a mini (quilt) iron, then you can gently remove the paper squares.

Je kunt nu de achterkant van de quilt een katoenen voeringstof geven in een bijpassende kleur.

Dit quiltje meet 13 cm x 9 cm en komt in de bedstee van mijn grachtenhuis te liggen als het klaar is. Ik ga de bedstee toch maar schilderen in een Oudhollandse kleur, denk ik.

Now you can sew at the back of your quilt a cotton lining fabric in a matching color.

This quilt measures 13 cm x 9 cm and it will go into the ‘bedstee’/cupboard cabinet of my canal house, when it is ready. I think I will paint the ‘bedstee’ in an old Dutch color.

Ik woon in een streek, de Achterhoek, met een zogenaamd 'coulissen' landschap. Het is een glooiend lanschap tegen de Duitse grens met een continue afwisseling van bossen, velden, weiden, beken en vennetjes, het is hier geweldig mooi :D!

I live in a region, called the Achterhoek, with a so called 'scenery' landscape. The sloping landscape against the German border with a continuous alternation of woods, fields, meadows, streams and fens, it's awesome pretty :D!
