Pakjesavond / Sinterklaas Eve

Deze avond behoeft voor mijn Nederlandse lezers geen uitleg, maar waarschijnlijk wél voor mijn buitenlandse lezers ;)!

Sinterklaas was vroeg in de avond even hier en heeft een heleboel kinderen een handje én een kadootje gegeven. Harry schreeuwde de heleboel bij elkaar, terwijl Rosey het wel leuk vond allemaal. Maggy vond die zak van Piet wel leuk, want daar zaten interessante dingen in en Daisy was heel erg verlegen. Tommy en Johnny vonden het allemaal prachtig ;)!

Bedankt Patricia (die deze popjes heeft gemaakt), want ik mocht ze van haar gebruiken voor deze foto’s, vóórdat ze terug gingen naar haar in de USA.

Early this evening Sint Nicholas was here and he shook hands with many children  and because they have been good last year he gave them a present too. Harry was screaming out loud, while Rosey liked it all. Maggy thought the big burlap sack of Pete was big fun, because in there were lots of interesting things (presents) and Daisy was very shy. Tommy and Johnny, they loved everything ;)!

Thanks to Patricia (who has made these dolls). I was allowed to use them for these pictures, in the meantime they are back home in the USA.

Deze twee deugnieten (Barney en Schepje) waren ook van de partij, zij hadden nog nooit die vriendelijke oude man, Sinterklaas, gezien, maar ze vonden zijn helpers veel interessanter dan hem ;O!!

These two rascals (Barney and Schepje) were present too. They've never seen that friendly old man, named Sinterklaas, but they thought that his helpers were more interesting than him ;O!!

Hier hebben we Hallie, ze was nog niet aangekleed door mij, dus ze blijft wat langer bij mij thuis. Ze heeft zelfs wat Nederlandse Sinterklaas liedjes geleerd van Oma (pop door mij gemaakt) en ze heeft de hele dag luidkeels lopen zingen van opwinding. Ze heeft zelfs onder de douche gezongen, waarna ze in een warme deken werd gewikkeld door Oma.

Here we have Hallie, her clothing was not ready, so she stays a bit longer at our house. She even learned a few Dutch Sinterklaas songs from grandma (doll is made by me) and the whole day she sung out loud of excitement. She even sung  under the shower and than she was wrapped in a warm blanket by Grandma.

Naast de kachel heeft ze een emmer water en een stukje brood klaargezet voor het paard van Sint. Ze heeft Sint nog nooit ontmoet, dus heeft ze voor de zekerheid ook maar een bordje met koekjes voor Santa (kadootje van Birgit) klaargezet, nou, Sint lijkt een beetje op Santa, dus je weet maar nooit……..;D!

For the horse of Sinterklaas she has put a bucket filled with water and a piece of bread besides the stove. She has never met Sint, she also put a plate with some cookies for Santa (it was a gift of Birgit) , ah well, this Sinterklaas looks a bit like Santa, so you never know…….;D!

Oma ontdekt de inpaktafel, waarop Piet de kadootjes van Sint voor alle kinderen inpakt ;)!

Méters pakpapier……..         

Lots of meters of wrapping paper……

…….en méters plakband, zie je ze glimmen op de pakjes? Pff, wat een monnikenwerk: 1 mm breed plakband knippen van echt plakband :S!

………and lots of meters Scotch tape, can you see them glimmer on the gifts? Phew, what a lot of work: 1 mm wide Scotch tape, which is cut of real Scotch tape :S!

De schaar is van Le Mini di Pierluigi, hij is 16 mm lang en het kan echt knippen……ongelooflijk lasercutwerk, hè?!
