Voor de Kerst…. / Before Christmas…

 Nou, jullie zullen dit ritueel waarschijnlijk wel herkennen: er vóór de feestdagen mooi uit willen zien, en dan vooral de dames doen dat graag!

 

Well, you probably will recognize this ritual: wanting to look beautiful before the festive days, and especially the ladies like to do this!

Déze “dames” zijn daarom geen uitzondering en kregen ook hun behandelingen van manicure, pedicure, haarverf (nadat ik meters roodbruine en roomwitte wollen draden in millimeter stukjes flockwol had geknipt!) én eentje zelfs kreeg plastische chirurgie voor de feestdagen, kijk zelf maar….

 

THESE “ladies” are therefor no exception and also got their treatments of manicure, pedicure, hair dye (after I cut meters of length reddish brown and cream white wool threads into millimeters pieces of wool!) AND one of them even got plastic surgery, see for yourself….

Als eerste ging mijn plastic speelgoed koe onder het mes, want deze jongedame had volwassen uiers en dat hoort niet bij een (onvolwassen) vaars koe. Dus gingen er eerst een ijzerzaag in en daarna een scherp hobbymes: AU!! Maar het was voor het goede doel, want Ik wilde graag een koe bij mijn kudde koeien van twee ;).

 

My plastic toy cow was the first to go for some plastic surgery, because this young lady had heavy adult udders and that's a no go for an (immature) heifer cow. So first a hacksaw went in and then a sharp hobby knife: OUCH!! But it was for a good cause, because I really wanted an extra cow for my herd of (only) two cows ;).

Links zie je de plastic koe voor de make-over, rechts zie je de koe, zoals die eruit ziet nadat ik met nagellak remover (zonder aceton!) de donkerbruine verf er grotendeels af heb gehaald. Daar waar ik de koe bruin wilde laten, heb ik de verf, als ondergrond voor de onregelmatige vlekken, laten zitten. Hierna heb ik de koe een laagje witte gesso gegeven, alleen op de witte plekken.
Ook de vreemd gevormde plastic hoorns zijn er afgehaald.
 
On the left you see the plastic cow for the make-over, on the right you see the cow, as it looks after I have largely removed the dark brown paint with nail polish remover (without acetone!). Where I wanted to leave the cow brown, I left the paint as a substrate for the irregular spots. After this I gave the cow a layer of white gesso, only on the white spots.
The oddly shaped plastic horns have also been removed.

Hierboven kun je zien hoe ik de uiers heb terug gesneden tot een vorm en grootte, die past bij een vaars koe. Veel kleiner en na de implantatie van 4 stukjes bloemendraad en verf, kon de roomwitte flockwol er op gelijmd worden. Zo, dat ziet er beter uit!
 
Here above you can see how I cut back to shape the udders to get a better size that fit to a heifer cow. Now it's much smaller and after the implantation of 4 pieces of floral wire and white paint, the creamy white wool could be flocked/glued on. Ah, that looks better!

Een van de dames had een gebroken nek opgelopen tijdens haar reis vanuit de VS naar Nederland, die breuk is nu ook gerepareerd en ze kreeg een nieuwe huidkleur aangemeten ;).
Deze koe kwam bij mij al aan met doorgezakte achterpoten, vandaar dat ze dus een oudere koe is, die nog juist een kalf heeft gekregen. Het kalf is veel te vroeg geboren en daardoor te klein en onder de maat, dus na jaren trouwe dienst zal het helaas haar laatste kalf worden.
 
One of the ladies had a broken neck, sustained during her trip from the US to the Netherlands, that fracture was now also repaired and she was given a new skin color ;).
This cow came to me and already had sagging hind legs, which is why she is an older cow, which has only just given birth to a calf. The calf was born too early and therefore too small and below size, so after years of faithful service it will unfortunately be her last calf.

Nieuwe en poetste hoorns, ofwel manicure en gepoetste hoeven, of pedicure.

Een dame heeft een sprietje hooi tussen de tanden en de ander een druppel water aan haar mond, ze kijkt net op na het drinken  van water ;O)

Deze oudere koe is een prima moeder, want ze schermt haar kwetsbare kalf goed af van nieuwsgierige mensen….

This elder cow is a fantastic mom, because she shielding off well her vulnerable calf from curious people….

Tenslotte heb ik nog een vraag aan jullie: ik krijg in mijn leeslijst alleen maar oude blog berichten te lezen. Berichten die bijna een week geleden gepost zijn en die dus steeds herhaald worden, maar geen nieuwe berichten. Weet iemand hoe dat komt, of heeft iedereen dit? Dus als ik geen reactie achter laat op jullie blog, of dat schijnbaar vergeet, dan weten jullie waarom en hoe dat komt en laat me het dan even weten.
Inmiddels zijn wij in Nederland weer in een lockdown gegaan, iedereen veel sterkte toegewenst. Blijf veilig en gezond, zorg goed voor elkaar en jezelf.
