Eieren zoeken voor Pasen / Gathering eggs for Easter

‘s Morgens vroeg (een paar dagen vóór Pasen): waar is Oma…?
Early in the morning (a few days before Easter): where is Grandma…?

Ah, dáár is ze!
Ah, there she is!

Mag ik binnen komen, Oma?
Can I come in, Grandma?

Take care, Grandma, that you won’t step on the baby chicks!

Mogen we even beter kijken?
Can we have a better look, please?

Little Me, you go ahead to outside, there are still more chickens moms with their baby chicks (these last chicks and baby chicks made by Patricia Cabrera,

Grandma thinks: these 7 eggs will go into the basket, for hiding them on Easter ;)!

So, these are some pictures "from earlier times" of the chicken coop at the farm of my grandparents. On Easter Sunday it was tradition iin the 50s and 60s for us, grandchildren, to look for eggs at the farmyard around the farm. When the weather was good Grandma and Grandpa were sitting outside on the bench, and where she always carefully kept the found eggs in the lap of her apron. Regularly she counted the eggs, because the Easter bunny had told Grandma how many eggs he had hidden ;). It was a sort of race between the nieces and nephews, for whom of them could find the most eggs and I've always kept nice memories from that time.
 I wish you all

This is what life is about; making happy memories for us to be able to reflect back on. Yet if you are a miniaturist, then you are able to not only recall special times but you are able to recreate and then share them with others too. Your Little You and your Grandma collecting eggs in the henhouse, is a Beautiful memory BEAUTIFULLY done, Thank you for sharing and have a Very HAPPY EASTER Ilona! ♥

Hello, Ilona! It's so cute! We do not have a tradition to look for eggs, but it seems to me that it's very fun. The chickens are very small and very realistic, a wonderful miniature model. Happy Easter! Hugs, Julia

I must say I agree with Grandma... it's good to be friends with the Easter bunny to have an overview about the eggs that need to be discovered... ;O) This was a wonderful Easter post... sweet memories brought to "life" via miniatures. And it was great to visit your chicken coop again, I'm glad to see there are new inhabitants... which means there will be enough eggs not only for the Easter egg hunt but also for cakes and other treats that might be perfect for a nice and cozy "Kaffeeklatsch". Happy Easter to you and yours!
