Mislukking? / Failure?

Ik denk dat het wel 10 jaar geleden is dat ik wat losse onderdelen voor miniatuur popjes van Fimo klei heb gebakken. Ze lagen ergens in een la opgeborgen in een oude sok en ik was ze bijna vergeten.

Maar een paar weken geleden vond ik ze terug en van één stel onderdelen besloot ik een popje voor het personeel in mijn grachtenhuis te maken.

I think it must be 10 years ago that I baked a few loose parts of miniature dolls, made out of Fimo clay. I had stored them in an old sock somewhere in a drawer and I nearly forgot them. 
But a few weeks ago I found them back and I’ve decided to make a new doll from one set of parts for the staff in my canal house.

Dit waren de onderdelen, die ik gebruikt heb voor mijn nieuwe popje. 

Er mist een hand op de foto, maar er zijn er twee, kijk maar hier onder....

Ik gebruik voor het maken van miniatuur poppen (1:12 schaal) het fantastische  boek van James Carrington, dit boek heb ik jullie al in vorige blogpots laten zien. Uit dit boek heb ik een schema overgetrokken met de juiste verhoudingen voor poppen van verschillende leeftijden. Achter het nieuwe popje kun je dit schema zien. Hier op bovenstaande foto zijn de onderdelen verbonden met ijzerdraad, is het bekleed met watten en is het omwikkeld met huidkleurige (haak)katoen. Dit staat allemaal vermeld in dit boek, wat erg goed is voor het maken van je eigen miniatuur poppen.

For making (1:12 scale) miniature dolls I use the fantastic book of James Carrington. I have shown you this book in previous blog posts. Out of this book I have copied a drawn scheme for the exact proportions for dolls on different ages. Behind the new doll you can see this scheme. Here, on the picture above, are the parts of the doll connected with iron wire, which is coated with cotton wool and it is then coated with skin colored cotton thread (for crocheting). These things are all mentioned in the book, which is very helpful for making your own miniature dolls.

Volgens de instructies van dit boek smeer ik het gezichtje en handjes/armen in met een dikke laag toneel make-up, waarna ik het overtollige er weer afveeg met een vochtig doekje. Dit is nodig om de gelaatstrekken van een pop duidelijker te laten zien. Toen zag ik ook voor het eerst dat het gezichtje tijdens het boetseren al ‘mislukt’ was. Maar dat was voor mij de reden dat ik voor haar een eigen levensverhaal heb gecreëerd, maar dat vertel ik jullie in een andere blog post  ;)!

According the instructions of this book, I paint a thick layer of make-up for actors on the face and the hands/arms of the doll and after that I removed the excess with a damp cloth. This is necessary to show the facial features of a doll more clearer. At that moment I saw that her small face was already failed during the sculpting fase. But that was also the reason for me to create her own life story, but I will tell you that in another blog post ;)!

Nu is haar gezichtje beschilderd, je kunt duidelijk zien dat ze geen schoonheid is ;). 

Now her face is painted, you can clearly see that she is not a natural beauty ;).

Ik naai voor elke pop, die ik zelf maak, bijpassende kleding en ik gebruik hiervoor geen bepaald patroon, ik knip gewoon stof, pas het op de pop en ik heb een jurk voor haar genaaid. Er is geen lijm gebruikt voor zoompjes of zo.

For every doll, I make myself, I sew matching clothes and I don’t use a particular pattern, I simply cut the fabric, I apply it on the doll and I’ve sewn a dress for her. I didn’t use glue for the seams or something else.

Ook kreeg ze een schort van mij, die zal ze nodig hebben bij haar werk in de huishouding. 

She also got an apron of me, which she will need for her work in the household.

Donkerbruine verf op haar benen moeten haar kousen voorstellen. De slippers zijn gemaakt van dun leer en ze kregen ook een veelgebruikt uiterlijk. Bovendien zijn ze vele maten te groot….dus op de groei gekocht ;)!

The dark brown paint on her legs are suppose to be her stockings. The slippers are made of thin pieces of leather and they also got a much used look. Moreover, they are many sizes too big ....so they are purchased on the growth;)!

Voor haar kapsel heb ik oanjerode mohair gebruikt, omdat mij idt echt een goede keuze leek voor dit popje met haar ‘mislukte’ gezichtje…… Eerst een strook plakband op een stuk hout plakken en daarop plukjes haar plakken met Tacky Glue, daarna kun je het in elk gewenst kapsel op het hoofdje van de pop plakken.

I used orange red mohair for her hairdo, because this hair color did seem to me a good choice for this doll with her 'failed' face ..... First you stick a piece of Scotch tape on a piece of wood and with Tacky you glue thereon a few tufts of hair, then you glue the tufts of hair on the head of the doll in any hairdo you wish.

Dit is dus de oplossing van het raadsel van een aantal blogs geleden, waar ik zulke leuke antwoorden van jullie op gekregen heb :D!!

So, this is also the solution of the riddle of a few blogs ago, on which I got such nice answers of you all :D!!

Met haar nieuwe kapsel ziet ze er zo uit. Als je goed kijkt: ze heeft een litteken in haar gezichtje…

With her new hairdo she looks like this. If you look well: she has a large scar in her small face….

Trek je slippers uit en hup, op de weegschaal…..tja, ze weegt niet veel, net 21 gram en ze meet 13 cm hoog!

Take off your slippers and hop, on the scales ........ well, she does not weigh much, just 21 grams and she is 13 cm in height!

Hansaplastje er op....? / ‘Hansa’-plaster on it…..?

Wat is er gebeurd? Nou, dat zal ik vertellen: een ‘klein’ ongelukje!

What happened? Well, I’ll tell you: a ‘small’ accident!

Ik heb na meer dan een jaar eindelijk weer eens een pop gemaakt. Voor een opdracht heb ik een oud manneke geboetseerd van Fimo klei. Daar doe ik wel een paar dagen over, voordat zo’n pop klaar is. Tijdens het boetseren gebruik ik het boek ‘1/12 scale character figures’ van Jamie Carrington, als hulp hierbij. Er staat van alles in beschreven hoe je dat het beste kunt doen. Ik heb bijna geen boeken over miniaturen maken, maar dit boek heb ik meer dan 10 jaar geleden gekocht en ik wil het niet meer missen!

It is more than a year ago since I sculpted my last doll, so finally I’ve made a new doll, an old man. He is made for a commission and he is sculpted from Fimo clay. It always takes me some days for the sculpting. As an aid for the sculpting I use the book ‘1/12 scale character figures’ written by James Carrington. The book is very useful with a lot of clear pictures and step by step you are guided in the modelling process for the doll you want. I have nearly no books for making miniatures, but I have bought this book for more then 10 years ago and I wouldn’t miss it anymore!

Na het bakken in de oven heb ik hem in elkaar gezet. Mijn opdrachtgeefster wilde graag een zittende pop, die slaperig op de rand van zijn bed, of in een schommelstoel komt te zitten. Dat vraagt een andere positie van de benen, want die komen dan aan de voorkant van de buik te zitten en er moet een stukje van zijn billen af, anders komen de voeten niet op de grond. Ook moet de lengte van de benen aangepast worden: ze moeten iets langer dan gewoonlijk worden.

After baking in the oven, I've put him together. My client wanted a sitting and sleepy doll, which have to sit on the edge of his bed, or in a rocking chair. That requires a different position of the legs, because they have to be positioned at the front of the abdomen and there should be cut off a piece of his buttocks, otherwise his feet can't get on the ground. The length of the legs should also be adjusted: they have to be somewhat longer than usually.

Eenmaal in elkaar gezet heb ik kleding voor hem genaaid. De opdracht was een gestreepte nachthemd, maar ik heb voor hem ook een lange onderbroek genaaid, anders is het zo koud voor hem, niet waar ;)?

En toen gebeurde het ongelukje: tijdens het passen van het nachthemd (Jamie Carrington waarschuwde hier nog zó voor) brak zijn wijsvinger aan de linkerhand er af :(!!! Ik heb hem er bijna onzichtbaar weer aan kunnen plakken, gelukkig……

After he was put together, I've sewed some clothes for him. The commission was a striped nightgown, but I also made a long undies, otherwise it is a bit too cold for him, isn’t it ;)?

And then happened the small accident: during to fit the nightgown (Jamie Carrington did seriously warned for this) his forefinger broke :(!!! I've managed to glue it back in place, nearly invisible, thank goodness………

Als je zijn enkels goed bekijkt kun je zien dat ze wat dikker zijn, zoals bij oudere mensen vaker het geval is. Ik heb ruime pantoffels voor hem gemaakt van dunne stof, die wat op leer lijkt.

If you look at his ankles, you can see that they are a bit thick, as this is more usual to older people. I’ve made him some spacious slippers from thin fabric, which looks a bit like leather. 

Nadat hij bij de kapper een toupetje had aangemeten gekregen en ik hem uit de kappersmantel wilde helpen, gebeurde het nóg een keertje: de wijsvinger brak weer af! Ik zal hier maar niet beschrijven wat ik toen zei……;)!!

After he had got a toupee at the hairdresser’s and I wanted to help him out of the barber’s cloak (I don’t know the right word for this), it happened again: the forefinger broke again! I won’t write what I said then…….;)!!

Oké, wat nu? Ik heb hem er weer aangelijmd, maar nu zat er een zichtbaar klein randje op de vinger. Wat jammer!! Het was toen al laat en ik ben maar gaan slapen.

De volgende ochtend ging ik aan mijn werktafel zitten en zei voor de lol tegen het manneke:  jij hebt dus een zere vinger, zullen we daar eens een Hansaplastje op plakken? Jaaaa, dat was dé oplossing!

Okay, what to do now? I’ve glued it again, but now there was visible a small ridge on his finger. What a pity!! It was late by then and I went to bed.

The next morning I sat down at my worktable and I said for fun against the small man: so you got a sore finger, shall we stick a (Hansa=brand of) plaster on it? Yeesss, that was the solution for the problem! 

Kijk maar, het duurde even voordat ik een pleistertje van dat formaat mét bloedspettertje erop had uitgevogeld, maar het is gelukt :D! Mannetje én opdracht waren gered, want ze vindt hem met zijn pleister super geworden :D!!

See here, it took me some time before I could make a small plaster of this size with a ‘real’ blood spatter, but I did :D! This small man ánd my commission were saved, because she said: he is super cute with his plaster :D!!

Het oude mannetje is erg moe geworden van het hele avontuur en hij is volgens mij ook een beetje de kluts kwijt……zie je zijn kunstgebitje (heb ik ook van Fimo gemaakt) liggen. Zou hij dat weten ;)?

The old man has become quite tired after this adventure, but he is, according me, also a bit confused……do you see his dentures (I've made it from Fimo too) lying on his lap? Would he know that ;)?

Oude kranten / Old newspapers

Ook dit jaar heb ik weer zelf oliebollen en appelbeignets gebakken, heerlijk :D!! Mijn hoek in de garage om te zagen etc. werd omgetoverd tot bakkerij, dus heb ik nog niets aan miniaturen kunnen doen tot nu toe……overal liggen oude kranten van maanden geleden.

This year I also have fried my own typical Dutch ‘oliebollen and appelbeignets’ (the translator says that they are called donuts and apple fritters in English??), yummy :D!! My corner in the garage for the sawing etc. was changed into a bakery, so I haven’t done much miniature work till now…..everywhere are lying old newspapers from months ago.

Twee jaar geleden toen ik net begon met bloggen heb ik de ingrediënten en de pannen gemaakt van Fimo klei voor deze scene. In de ‘DollsHouse Nederland’ stond hier een artikeltje over hoe je dat kon doen. Ik heb het nog maar eens uit de opslagdoos gehaald voor dit jaar ;)!

In het echt is het enige verschil dat ik niet bak in olie in een gewone pan doe, maar in de frituurpan. Beslag maken met bier, laten rijzen, terwijl ik appels schil voor het maken van de appelbeignets. Met de appelboor haal ik de klokhuizen eruit, dan meng ik kaneel en suiker en bakken maar!

En terwijl ik sta te wachten tot de oliebollen gaar zijn, lees ik elk jaar al die kranten, die overal verspreid liggen….ben ik weer bijgelezen tegen de tijd dat alles klaar is ;)!

Two years ago when I first started blogging I’ve made the ingredients and the pans from Fimo clay for this scene. In the magazine 'DollsHouse Nederland' was an article about how to do this. For this year I digged it out from the storage box again ;)!

The only difference in real life is that I don’t fry in sunflower oil in a regular pan, but in the fryer. I make a batter with beer, let it rise, while I peel the apples for making the apple fritters. With the apple corer I take out the seeds, I mix the cinnamon and the sugar and let's bake!

And while I'm waiting until the apple fritters are fried, I am reading every year all the newspapers, which are scattered everywhere ....at the time everything is finished I had my yearly reading ;)!

Voor het komende nieuwe jaar heb ik de champagne van Anne op ijs gezet in de koeler, glazen erbij en wat drankjes voor gasten, die iets anders willen ;)! De klok slaat over een poosje twaalf uur en dan schieten we met vuurpijlen het nieuwe jaar in, dus….

For the coming new year I've put the champagne from Anne on ice in the cooler, I've put some glasses next to it and next to this some other drinks for guests, who wish to drink something different ;)! In a little while the clock will strikes twelve hours and then we will shoot some fireworks into the new year, so…..

Wie is het? /Who is it?

Vorige week verliet ik jullie met de vraag wie de mysterieuze gast was op de onderste foto van mijn vorige blogpost…….en hebben jullie er nog over nagedacht wie dat kleine mannetje kon zijn? Natuurlijk deden jullie dat niet, want jullie hebben wel wat beters te doen ;)!

Velen van jullie dachten dat het de Kerstman was, maar nee, hij was het niet en iemand dacht zelfs dat het Vader Tijd was. Dat was een goede gok, Maria, maar nou……nee, hij was het ook niet.

Ik zal het jullie nu vertellen: het is Klaas Vaak en voor mijn buitenlandse lezers: het is het zandmannetje :D!

Last week I left you with the question who the mystery guest was on the bottom picture of my previous blogpost…….and have you thought about who this little man could be? Of course you haven’t, because you have better things to do ;)!

Many of you suggested that it was Santa Claus, but no, it wasn’t him and someone even thought it was Father Time. That was a good guess, Maria, but well,…….no, it wasn’t him too.

Now I’ll tell you: it is Klaas Vaak (in Dutch) and for my foreign readers: it is the Sandman :D!

Ik kwam op het idee toen ik het kleine ezeltje Suzanne zag wat is gemaakt door Patricia. Ik had haar gevraagd om (naast mijn bestelling van boerderijdieren) een ezeltje te maken voor mij. Dus zij was het, die mij de inspiratie gaf voor het maken van dit kleine mannetje!

I got this idea after I saw the donkey Suzanne, it is made by Patricia. (Next to my order of farm animals) I asked her to make a little donkey for me. So she was it, who gave me my inspiration to make this small man! Patricia did the Philadelphia miniature show at the end of October and in the meanwhile she posted lots of new and beautiful animals on her blog. Haven’t you seen them yet? Heb je ooit gehoord van het boek “Het ABC van de slaap” van Wil Huygen en illustrator Rien Poortvliet? Nee? Wat jammer, want het gaat over Klaas Vaak, die ’s avonds slaapzand in onze ogen strooit, zodat we heerlijk slapen en mooie dromen hebben. Het boek staat vol humoristische verhaaltjes en  tekeningen en jaren geleden las ik dat boek voor aan mijn kleine kinderen voor het slapen gaan.

Have you ever heard of this book “The ABC of the sleep” written by Wil Huygen and the illustrator Rien Poortvliet? For my followers who live abroad I think they don't have heard of this book? That is such a pity, because the book tells all about the Sandman, who scatters sleep sands into our eyes every night, so that we can sleep nice and we have beautiful dreams. This book is full with humoristic stories and drawings and years ago I read it to my little kids, before they went to sleep.

Klaas Vaak, die in het echte leven maar 15 cm groot is, meet in miniatuur 7,8 cm (bijna 1:24 schaal pop).

Hij kan ook zijn hoofd, armen en benen bewegen.

The Sandman, who in RL measures only 15 cm tall, measures in miniature 7,8 cm tall (nearly a 1:24 scale doll). He also can move his head, arms and legs.

Hij draagt altijd een rood nachthemd en een rode puntmuts, waarvan de punt geknakt is door de snelheid, waarmee hij ’s avonds en ’s nachts door de lucht vliegt op zijn ezeltje Suzanne. Klaas Vaak leeft in een kasteel hoog in het Alpengebergte, naar men zegt wordt zijn kasteel (volgens het boek/verhaal) bewaakt door Vrouw Holle.

He is always wearing a red nightgown and a red pointy hat, whereof the point is snapped, caused by the speed with which he every evening and night is flying through the air on his donkey Suzanne.

The Sandman lives in a castle high in the Alpine mountains, reputedly (according to the book/story) his castle is guarded by Mother Hulda.

Klaas Vaak en Suzanne hebben een huishoudster, Roberta, die jullie inmiddels al hebben gezien.

De laatste van de vier inwoners is Petronius, een heel oud steenuiltje (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steenuil), hij kan het weer voorspellen en kent alle tijdsverschillen op de wereld uit zijn hoofd, dat is altijd handig voor Klaas Vaak ;)! Misschien dat ik ooit nog eens ga leren naaldvilten en hem ook namaak, dan zou het kwartet compleet zijn en dat is wel zo leuk :D!

Mr. Sandman and Suzanne have a housekeeper, Roberta, who you have already seen.

The last one of the four inhabitants is Petronius, a very old little owl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Owl ) he can predict the weather and he knows all the time differences around the world out of his head, that is always useful for the Sandman;)! Perhaps I ever will learn needle felting in order to make him too, then the quartet will be complete and that would be nice :D!

Omdat Klaas Vaak al honderden jaren slaapzand rondstrooit, moet hij in topconditie zijn. Elke dag doen hij en Suzanne fanatiek hun oefeningen….wat een leuk boek is het toch :D!

Because the Sandman scatters sands for more then hundred of years, he has to be in top condition. Every day he and Suzanne fanatically do their exercises …. it is such a fun book :D!

Natuurlijk moeten Klaas Vaak en Suzanne zelf ook slapen…….

The Sandman and Suzanne also need sleep, of course ……

(Suzanne is net even uit bed geweest......zie de pot onder het bed;)!)

....en dat doen ze ook samen, dat doe je gewoon na een samenzijn van een paar honderd jaar.

Donker en guur weer / Dark and inclement weather

Dus écht pannenkoekenweer, het vuur opstoken, beslag maken en bakken maar, hmmmm!

So it is pancakes weather, stoke the fire, make a batter and bake them, yummy!

Eigenlijk was ik van plan om vandaag over iets anders te posten, maar ik was te druk met allerlei afspraken en ik had daardoor niet veel tijd voor mijn miniatuurwerk.

Actually I had planned to do a blogpost about something else, but I was too busy with all kind of appointments in real life and therefore I didn’t have much time for my miniature work.

Met de komst van dit natte, donkere en gure herfstweer in ons land gaan we ook weer de gezelligheid en warmte binnen zoeken. Vandaag bakt Roberta de pannenkoeken voor ons, het is best handig om een vogel-elfje zoals zij in je huis te hebben. Maar als je berehonger hebt, vallen die kleine miniflensjes nogal tegen: je stopt ze zo in je holle kies. Alhoewel……..dat laat je wel uit je hoofd, want ze zijn keihard, omdat ze zijn gemaakt van papierklei ;)!

With the advent of wet, dark and cold autumn weather in our country, we like to stay inside for some cosiness and warmth. Today Roberta bakes the pancakes for us, it is quite convenient to have a birdie elf like her in your house. But if you're very hungry, then those little mini pancakes are rather disappointing: you put them right in your hollow tooth as we say in The Netherlands. Although ........ I think you won't do it: they are as hard as a stone, because they are made of paper clay ;)!

Voor het vuur heb ik een flakkerend lichtje van een kerstvuurtje gebruikt, wat ik heb gekocht bij het tuincentrum op de kerstafdeling. Ik heb het helemaal gesloopt, alleen de kleine lampjes met weerstandjes ervan bewaard en met stukjes balsahout bedekt in de vuurplaats ingebouwd.  

For the fire I used a flickering light of a Christmas fire place. I have bought it at the garden centre on the Christmas decorations section. I’ve completely demolished it, I only preserved the tiny light bulbs and the resistors and covered with pieces of balsa wood I built them in the fire place. 

De kaars op de schoorsteenmantel en alle potten en pannen zijn door mij gemaakt van Fimo klei. Het kruikje heb ik op de laatste beurs gekocht van Elisabeth Causeret.

The candle on the mantelpiece and all pots and pans are made by me from Fimo clay. I bought the water jug from Elisabeth Causeret on the last fair. 

De mattenklopper is gemaakt van bloemendraad, daarna heb ik het geverfd.

The carpet beater is made of floral wire, afterwards I painted it.

Naast een solide rustieke vuurplaats heb ik ook nog wat spulletjes gemaakt voor Roberta om het huishouden wat te vergemakkelijken voor haar. Zeg nou zelf, een elfje van honderden jaren uit mag best wat “comfort” in huis hebben, niet ;)?

Roberta maakt graag schoon, ze veegt, klopt de matten, doet de was en ze bakt de meest heerlijke flensjes. Ze doet alles met veel toewijding voor haar baas………van wie ik op de laatste foto een glimp laat zien. Zie hier, de geheime gast, wie zou dat zijn :D!? Het is niet wie je denkt dat het is!

In addition to a solid rustic fireplace I’ve made some things for Roberta in order to facilitate the tasks of the household for her. Say for yourself, an elf of hundreds of years old really can use some “comfort” in the house, couldn’t she ;)?

Roberta loves to clean the house, she wipes, beats the mats, does the laundry and she bakes the most delicious crepes. She does everything with a lot of devotion for her boss ......... of whom I'll show you a glimpse on the last picture. See here, the mystery guest, who will that be :D? It is not who you think it is!

Waarschijnlijk zouden jullie hard gelachen hebben om mij op mijn handen en knieën door het huis te zien kruipen om een geschikt plekje te vinden voor die laatste foto. Onze hobby laat ons ook de meest gekke dingen doen :D!

Probably you would have laughed out loud to see me crawling on my hands and knees in order to find a suitable spot for that last picture. Our hobby always let us do the most crazy things :D!

Het regent, het regent… / It's raining, it’s raining…

Afgelopen weekend is het erg slecht weer geweest, vooral in het zuidwesten van Nederland. Storm en regen, erg véél regen! Ik ben wel even buiten geweest voor een klein wandelingetje, gewapend met regenlaarzen en een flinke paraplu ;)! 

De blaadjes waaiden van de bomen, het is echt weer “bladeren-vegen”-weer.

In the last weekend it has been very bad weather, especially in the Southwest of The Netherlands. Storm and rain, lots and lots of rain! I have been outdoors for a small walk, armed with my rain boots and a big umbrella ;)! 

The leaves fell down from the trees, it is “leaves wiping”-weather again.

Voordeel van dit echte herfstweer is natuurlijk dat je ook wat tijd krijgt om miniaturen te maken, dus wilde ik miniatuur regenlaarzen en paraplu’s maken. Ik heb geprobeerd ze eens in miniatuur te maken, maar die open paraplu lukte niet erg. Het ging desondanks niet de prullenbak in, want nu is het een kapot gewaaide kinderparaplu geworden. Is het toch nog ergens goed voor, niet :D?

The advantage of this real autumn weather is that you also get some time to make miniatures, so I was trying to make miniature rainboots and umbrellas. I have tried to make them, but the red open umbrella isn't succeeded very well. But even though it did not go in the trashbin, because now it became a childrens umbrella, broken by the wind. So it is still good for something, isn’t it :D?

Beide paraplu’s heb ik gemaakt van heel dun papier, gelakt met glansvernis. De steel van de zwarte paraplu is een dun geschuurde tandenstoker en voor de rode paraplu heb ik nikkelvrij ijzerdraad voor sierraden gebruikt.

Both umbrellas are made of very thin paper, which I've painted with gloss varnish. The stick of the black umbrella is made of a toothpick, which I’ve sanded until it was very thin and for the red umbrella I used nickle free iron wire for jewelry.

De gietijzeren deurmat is beschilderd met matte sienna kleurige verf en een beetje zwart hier en daar.

The cast iron doormat is painted with matte sienna-colored paint and a bit of matte black here and there.

De “gietijzeren” paraplubak heb ik geschilderd met matzwarte verf, daarna heb ik het gelakt met satijnglans vernis. Ik heb deze paraplubak en de deurmat onlangs gekocht bij www.odhqualityproducts.nl Dit is een bedrijf dat o.a. laser cut houten miniaturen maakt. Ze hebben mooie miniaturen in hun assortiment, kijk zelf maar eens. In oktober staan ze ook weer op de dollhouse fair in Apeldoorn.

I painted the “cast iron” umbrella stand with black matte paint, I then painted it with a satin gloss varnish. The umbrella stand and the door mat are recently bought at www.odhqualityproducts.nl   This is a company that inter alia makes laser cut wooden miniatures. They have wonderful miniatures in their assortment, if you wish, click on the link and have a look. In October they also have a stand on the dollhouse fair in Apeldoorn.

De laarzen heb ik gemaakt van Fimo klei en ze zijn open aan de binnenkant tot op de hiel, maar niet tot in de tenen. Ik zie dat we weer eens nieuwe moeten kopen, deze zijn knap versleten ;)!

The boots are made from Fimo clay and they are open on the inside until the heel, but not into the toes. I see we have to buy new ones again, these are pretty worn ;)!
