Ik was niet zo tevreden over de kleding van mijn Opa, want hij
leek net zo’n Michelin-mannetje, dus werd zijn ondergoed uitgetrokken om het te
wassen ;O.
Als eerste kreeg hij een overhemd (sorry, ik vergat foto’s
te maken, ik was ook zó lekker bezig), daarna kreeg hij een manchester (corduroy) broek
aan. Beide kledingstukken zijn gebaseerd op de boerenkleding uit de jaren ’50.
I wasn't quite satisfied with the clothing of my grandfather,
because he looked alot like the tiny man of the Michelin tyres, so I’ve pulled
off his underwear to wash them ;O.
First of all he got a shirt (unfortunately I forgot to make
pictures, sorry, it was so much fun to do), then he got a pair of trousers, made of manchester fabric.
Both pieces of clothing have the looks of the farmer’s clothing in the 50s.
De platte pet is gemaakt van suedine uit oude handschoenen, je weet wel: wie wat bewaart... ;)!
The flat cap is made out of faux suede old gloves, ah well, you know: who keeps things.....;)!
De platte pet, die mijn Opa droeg, is gebaseerd op een
patroontje, gevonden op internet. Voor zijn kapsel heb ik wat wol gebruikt,
hetzelfde als ik destijds voor mijn Oma heb gebruikt.
My grandfather wore a flat cap, which is based on a pattern
found on the internet. For his hairdo I used some wool, the same sort I've used
for my grandma’s hairdo.
Nu zag hij er zo uit, wachtend op zijn speciale jasje, dat in
die tijd gedragen werd door o.a. boeren tijdens het boerenwerk. Het heeft ruime
zakken, zodat je er van alles in kon stoppen, zoals touw, spijkers etc.
Now he looked like this, waiting for a special jacket, which
in that time was worn by i.a. farmers as clothing for work. It has large
pockets, so you could put in there all sort of stuff, like rope, nails and so
on.
Op een van de mouwen zit een stopplek, want Opa bleef nog
wel eens ergens achter hangen tijdens het werk ;). Opa is hier op stap met
Tippie, de waakhond van de boerderij, die altijd aangelijnd was aan een stukje vlastouw,
als ze samen buiten het erf waren.

There’s a darning on one of the sleeves, because my
grandfather probably was stuck behind at something during his work on the farm
;). Here, my grandfather is walking the dog, named Tippie, he was the watch dog of the farm. He was always leashed to a piece of flax rope, if they walked away from the barnyard.

The walking-stick of my grandfather was found at http://www.tumdee-dollshouse-miniatures.co.uk/ unfortunately they didn’t have a Dutch type of walking-stick.
Hier zie je mijn Opa samen met zijn vrouw, mijn Oma, die
druk aan het werk was en eigenlijk geen tijd had om te poseren voor een foto
;D!
Het was heerlijk om weer eens even de tijd te nemen om iets
voor mezelf te maken in miniatuur, nu zullen we eens zien wat er nog meer te
doen is.

Here you see my grandfather together with his wife, my
grandmother, who was very busy and actually she didn’t have time for posing for
a picture ;D!
It was so nice to make something in miniature for myself,
now we’ll see what we’ll do next.
