Whilst I was searching on Google for species of orange
colored lilies, I came along the specific Lilium bulbiferum subsp. Croceum,
ofwhich I’d never heard of.
For more information:
In earlier times these sort of lilies did grew in fields
with rye (as wild flower, or weed), but it seems that this lily
has become very rare in The Netherlands. Therefore it’s now on the red list of
protected flowers, since January of this year.
They have a bright orange color with dark tiny dots on the
petals and because I recently got a beautiful cobalt blue vase, I decided to
make these lilies in miniature. Vase and flowers fit beautifully together, almost royal....and just for weed, isn't it ;)?!
antwoord ;)!
This was the flower I showed in my previous blogpost:
the Lilium bulbiferum subsp. Croceum. Piikko, Elizabeth and Betsy were all very
close to the right answer ;)!
is ongeveer 8mm lang.
The stamen are about 5-6 mm and every flower head is about
8mm long.
The upper flowerhead is already out of flower, there are just
a few crinkled petals left.
All of the leaves on the stems were cut out by hand, just a
few dozen ;O!
It was hard to make the Lilies in mini, because of the very tiny
speckles on the petals and the tiny stamen, but I’m satisfied about the result.
The colors of the tulip plate fits perfectly to the vase and
the lillies, the plate is made by Henny Staring-Egberts.
heel fijn Pinksterweekend.
Thank you for your nice comments, wishing all of you a nice
Pentecost.
