De Agapanthus wordt ook wel de Afrikaanse lelie genoemd. Zomers heb ik deze mooie plant in een grote bloempot buiten op het terras staan.
Elk jaar krijgt hij kobaltblauwe bloemen en juist deze schitterende bloemen inspireerden
mij om deze plant in miniatuur na te maken.

The Agapanthus is commonly known as lily of the Nile (or
African lily in the UK). In summer my RL Agapanthus plant stands in a large
flower pot on my terrace. Every year he blooms with cobalt blue flowers and
these gorgeous flowers inspired me to make this plant in miniature.

Het toeval wil dat ik ooit eens een paar kleine beeldjes van
farao’s heb gevonden in de plaatselijke kringloopwinkel. Die beeldjes heb ik gebruikt
voor een fotosessie van mijn miniatuur Agapanthus planten, niet alleen vanwege
de toepasselijke naam “lelies van de Nijl”, maar ook vanwege hun mooie kleur
;)!
De rivier de Nijl heeft een groot stroomgebied en komt dus
ook door Egypte, het land van de farao’s. Daarom is een gedachtesprongetje naar het
gebruik van deze beeldjes gauw gemaakt……
It happened that I ever found a couple of small statues of
pharaohs in the local thrift store. I’ve used them for a photo shoot of my
miniature Agapanthus plants, not just because of their aptly named “lilies of
the Nile”, but also because of their wonderful colors ;)!
The Nile River intersects a very large area, including
Egypt, known as the the land of the pharaohs. Therefore a little step in thinking was made quickly for using these figurines......
Ik hoop dat deze bloemen een beetje kleur zullen brengen in
deze donkere dagen, gezien wat er vandaag in Brussel is gebeurd….
