Zij vindt deze kleuren ‘t mooist / She likes these colors most

Zo, het ergste leed is geleden: de hoest is bijna weg :D!! Hè, hè, ik dacht dat ik er nooit van af zou komen. Inmiddels ben ik begonnen met iets wat niet zo snel wegwaaide ;), de vloer in de provisiekamer/kelder van mijn grachtenhuis.

Nadat de bouw van mijn grachtenhuis én het maken van het interieur 14 jaar heeft stilgelegen, wordt het nu echt eens tijd om weer wat aan het huis te gaan doen.

Thus, the worst suffering is over, the cough is almost gone: D! Oh my, I thought I would never get rid of this cough. Meanwhile, I started with something that wouldn't blow away so quickly ;), it is the floor in the pantry / cellar of my canal house.

After the build of my canal house and the making of the interior is halted since 14 years ago, it is really time to do something again with the house now.

Ik heb zelf geprobeerd om op het internet te zoeken naar plavuizen, die in de 17^e eeuwse grachtenhuizen op de vloeren lagen, maar over de werkruimtes van die tijd is bijna geen informatie te vinden. Totdat ik ineens dacht aan het boekje dat ik in 1994 gekregen heb voor mijn verjaardag:

On the internet I searched for glazed tiles, which were on the floors in the 17th century canal houses, but as usual there is not much information to be found about the workrooms of that time. Until I suddenly thought of the booklet I got as a birthday gift back in 1994:

Ik kreeg dit boekje van mijn ouders, die in die tijd het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam hadden bezocht en daar de antieke poppenkabinetten uit de 17^e eeuw hadden gezien.

Ik was toen net een paar jaar bezig met mijn miniaturen hobby en wilde graag een eigen grachtenhuis bouwen. Het grachtenhuis kwam er in het jaar 2000, daarna lag de bouw door allerlei omstandigheden stil.

I've got this booklet from my parents, who had visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in that time and they had seen the antique dollshouse/cabinets from the 17th century.

A few years before then I was just started the miniatures hobby  and I wanted to build a canal house myself. The canal house was built in the year 2000 by me, but because of all kind of circumstances the build halted.

Vorige week heb ik bij de bouwmarkt een houten kijkkamer op maat laten zagen, daarvan heb ik de wanden met gesso bewerkt. Deze wanden werden vroeger wit gesausd en dat heb ik geprobeerd na te bootsen. Dus niet mooi strak gewit, maar met vlekken en zo.

Last week at the hardware store I asked them for custom sawing a wooden roombox, of which I painted the walls with gesso. In earlier times these walls were whitewashed and I have tried to copy this with gesso. So, definately not beautiful regular white, but with stains and so on.

Heb je ooit wanden geschilderd met een Lotto-kaart? Nee? Nou, ze maken mooie aangestreken witgekalkte muren ;).

Did you ever painted walls with a lottery-card? No? Well, they make nicely rubbed whitewashed walls ;).

Terug naar de provisiekamer van het boekje, op defoto kun je zien dat er mosterdgele en mosgroene plavuizen op de grond liggen. Omdat het haar werkterrein is, mocht mijn dienstmeisje de kleuren uitkiezen ;). Mijn dienstmeisje vond deze kleuren ook mooi, dus ben ik begonnen met het maken van de plavuizen.

Back to the pantry from the booklet, on the picture you can see that there are mustard yellow and moss green tiles on the floor. Because it is her work place, my maid was allowed to choose the colors of the floor tiles ;). My maid also liked these colors, so I started with the making of the floor tiles.

In de boekhandel heb ik twee vellen gekleurd papier gekocht, het wordt gebruikt om thuis zelf kaarten te kunnen printen. Daarop heb ik lijnen getrokken, 15 mm uit elkaar en daarna in stroken gesneden, zodat ze niet zo gemakkelijk weg waaiden ;).

At the bookstore I bought two sheets of colored paper, which are used to print your own cards at home. On the sheets I have drawn lines, 15 mm from each other and after that I cut them up in strips, so that they couldn’t easily blow away ;).

Ik heb die strips papier bewerkt met verf. Ik houd van knoeien met verf en zo ;).

I have edited these strips of paper with paint. I like messing up things ;).

Hierna heb ik de tegeltjes gesneden, nu nog aflakken.

After that I cut the tiles, I still have to varnish them.

Maar nu heb ik een vraag aan jullie: hoe kun je deze tegeltjes voegen zonder dat de papieren tegels vies worden en beschadigd raken? Weet iemand dat?

But here is a question to you: how can I add these tiles with grout without dirtying or damaging the paper tiles? Does someone know this?
