Ruzie / Quarrel

Deze afgelopen week was het zo'n prachtig weer en mijn tuin schreeuwde om mijn onmiddellijke aandacht. Dus was ik erg druk en er was weinig tijd voor bloggen, of miniatuur werk!!

This past week it was such wonderful weather and my garden asked for my immediate attention. So I was very busy and there was less time for blogging, or miniature work!!

Ik heb overgrootvader even op de kleintjes laten passen, terwijl ik zelf het gevecht aanging met mijn fors uitgegroeide klimhortensia. Nou, Paula, er zijn heel wat grote mannen woorden gevallen tijdens dit gevecht :D!!  Na de vorige strenge en vooral lange winter, moest de klimhortensia dringend een forse snoeibeurt hebben………pffft, wat veel werk! Er is van alles aan te pas gekomen (hamer, bijl, zaag etc.), maar ze staat nu dan eindelijk weer netjes gesnoeid in haar hoek van de tuin ;)!

I asked great-grandfather as babysitter for the little ones , while I was fighting with my hefty grown climbing hydrangea. Well, Paula, there were some "real big men words", that I've used during this fight :D!! After the last hard and especially long winter, the climbing hydrangea urgently needed a significant pruning…….pfft, what a lot of work! I had to use all kind of utensils for this heavy job (a hammer, an ax, a saw and so on), but finally she is standing neatly pruned in her corner of the garden now ;)!

Ik wil Melli, van http://pippibaerenbande.blogspot.com nog bedanken voor haar hulp bij het oplossen van mijn probleempje met de uitstekende haren op de genaaldvilte stoel voor Schepje. Ik hoef gelukkig geen sneeuwmannen te gaan scheren, die primeur is voor iemand anders ;)!

I want to thank Melli, of http://pippibaerenbande.blogspot.com  for her help by solving my problem of the protruding hairs on the needle felted chair for Schepje. Thankfully I don’t have to shave snowmen, that scoop is for someone else ;)!

Inmiddels ben ik bezig met mijn giveaway surprise en het zal jullie niet verbazen: het wordt in ieder geval iets lenteachtigs ;)! De sluitingsdatum is donderdag 3 april en op vrijdag 4 april zal ik de winnaar aankondigen. Dank jullie voor jullie geduld om zo lang te moeten wachten!

Voor een andere opdracht ben ik begonnen met wat rozen te maken mét doornen, die gelukkig niet zo prikken in miniatuur, als in het echt. 

In the meanwhile I am now working on my giveaway surprise and it will not surprise you: it is something spring-like ;)! The closing date is Thursday the 3th of April and on Friday the 4th of April I’ll announce the winner. Thank you all for your patience for waiting so long!

For an other small commission I started making a few roses with thorns, which happily are not so pricking, as in real life.

Bloggen is zo leuk! / Blogging is so nice!

Ik had nooit gedacht dat bloggen over  miniaturen zo leuk zou zijn :D! Op deze manier kun je leuke contacten leggen met veel vriendelijke mensen over de hele wereld, die ook miniaturen maken.

I never would have thought that blogging about miniatures would be so much fun :D! That way you can have a nice contact with lots of kind people over the whole world, who also love to make miniatures.

In december was ik zo gelukkig om een paar hele mooie give away’s te winnen, ik heb hierover al eerder geschreven. De laatste give away, die ik won, was van Natalia, van http://scarletsailsminiatures.blogspot.com zij maakte me blij met zijden borduurgaas om heel mooi op te kunnen borduren in miniatuur. Inmiddels heb ik het borduurgaas van haar mogen ontvangen.

Last December I was so lucky to win some very beautiful give away’s, I have written about them in previous posts. The last prize I won was from Natalia, of http://scarletsailsminiatures.blogspot.com she made me so very happy with silk gauze for embroidery.  In the mean time I have received from her the silk gauze.

Maar ik was blij verrast toen ik de envelop openmaakte, want nadat ik al een hele mooie Kerstkaart vond, zat nog wat extra’s in. Het was een prachtig borduurpatroon om de Kerstman op een kussentje te kunnen borduren. Bovendien was Natalia zo attent om aan nog iets belangrijks te denken: een hele fijne borduurnaald, want zo eentje had ik niet :D!!

Natalia, ik dank je vanuit de grond van mijn hart, ik ben erg blij met het borduurgaas.

But I was very surprised after opening the envelope, because after I found a very beautiful Christmas card, there were still some extras. It was a needlepoint pattern for a pillow to embroider a Christmas pillow with Santa Claus. Moreover, Natalia was so thoughtful to think of adding a very fine embroider needle, because I didn’t have such a needle :D!!

Natalia, I thank you (again) from the bottom of my heart, I am very happy with this silk gauze.

Op mijn laatste blog bericht reageerde ook Tanja (ik kan jouw blog  niet vinden, als je er een hebt, wil je me dat dan laten weten, aub?). Zij wist mij te vertellen dat ik in Nederland ook zijden borduurgaas kon kopen, namelijk hier:

Gisteren kreeg ik deze prachtige tulpen van mijn dochter, als lente voorbode :D. Ik wil hun schoonheid graag via mijn blog met jullie delen. Misschien ga ik wel weer eens wat miniatuur tulpen maken.

Yesterday I got these beautiful tulips from my daughter, as a harbinger of spring :D. I would like to share with you their beauty through my blog. Maybe it is time to make some miniature tulips again.

Over de lente sprekend……waar is de winter eigenlijk? Ik weet dat in veel staten van de Verenigde Staten er constant een polaire luchtstroom staat met ijskoud winterweer en alle gevolgen van dien. Maar wij hebben hier helemaal geen winter gehad, de natuur is hier helemaal van slag, kijk…….

Speaking about spring……..where is the winter actually? I know that in lots of states of the USA there is a polar vortex, which is bringing there very bad and polar cold weather with all its consequences. But here in The Netherlands we had no winter at all, Mother Nature here is completely confused, look…..

……heb je hier ooit nog roodgele (geen verrotte) appels aan de bomen zien hangen in Januari???? Ik niet!

….have you ever seen red yellow (no rotten) apples on the trees in January in The Netherlands??? I don’t!

Hetzelfde geldt voor bramen, ze hangen (hier en daar) nog aan de braamstruiken, volledig aan de lucht gedroogd en nog steeds met een beetje kleur. Dat is vreemd voor de maand januari!

The same is for the blackberries, they still hang (here and there) on the blackberry bushes, completely air dried and still with a touch of their color. That is odd for this month of January!

Afgelopen weekend heb ik een beknelde schouderspier opgelopen, dat was behoorlijk pijnlijk. Daarvan ben ik nu aan het herstellen, het gaat gelukkig al beter nadat mijn huisarts me een spierontspannende medicatie voorschreef.

Sinds een paar dagen kan ik weer wat wandelen door de omgeving en vanmiddag kreeg ik een enthousiaste  groep tieners op me af. Ze hadden waarschijnlijk al een poosje niemand gezien, of ze wisten dat ik van roodbontjes houd ;)!

Vlak voor het hek stopten ze gelukkig, tja, daar kun je niet doorheen rennen tuurlijk. 

Last weekend I got a pinched muscle in my shoulder, it hurt a lot. I am recovering from this, it feels much better now after my GP gave me a muscle relaxing medication.

So since a few days I can go out for a walk through my area and this afternoon an enthusiastic group of teenagers came to me in a rush. I guess that they didn't see anyone for a while, or they must have known I love red and white cowies ;)!

Fortunately they stopped just before the fence, of course, because you can't run through this.

Het viel me op dat er eentje bij was met wel een heel vreemde piercing in haar neus, zij lust waarschijnlijk wel een slokje……..bij andere koeien, vandaar!

It struck me that there was one cow with a very strange 'piercing' in her nose. She probably likes to take a sip........at other cows, that's why!

Fijne Vaderdag / Happy Father's Day

Ik ben aan de late kant, maar het is nooit te laat om alle vaders een fijne Vaderdag toe te wensen toch? ;) En aangezien mannen iets met auto’s hebben, heb ik mijn pastelwerk van een oldtimer opgezocht. Dit is dus ook een oudje van een paar jaar geleden ;)!

I am a bit late, but it is never too late to wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day, isn’t it? And because men do have something with cars, I’ve been looking for my pastelwork of an very old car :)! This is also an old one of a few years ago ;)!

Bovendien ben ik van plan een give away te doen (heb ik beloofd ;)): maar waar gaat jullie voorkeur naar uit? Dan kan ik daar een begin mee maken. Willen jullie dat aan mij laten weten in een reactie op dit bericht? 

Besides that I’ll do a give away soon (I’ve promised you that ;)) So I have a question for you all: what is your  choice? Than I can start working on that too. Please, let me know in a comment on this post.

Blij, blij,blij...en druk, druk, druk / Happy, happy, happy....and busy,busy,busy

Ik ben heel erg blij!! Waarom? Omdat ik het hele weekend al feest heb gevierd (verjaardagen), maar ook nog 2 GROTE minifeestjes ;) Ik heb 2 weken geleden de give away van Julia http://elminimundodeyuli.blogspot.com/ gewonnen. Julia, heel erg bedankt! Ik ben heel erg door haar verwend, kijk maar

Ik wil gelijk mijn nieuwe volgers verwelkomen en iedereen hartelijk bedanken die dat al doet. Dank voor jullie lieve reacties, het geeft me veel energie.
Ik heb gezien dat ik over de 100 volgers heb, maar ik moet een give away even uitstellen. Ik heb namelijk een expositie in mei. Ik krijg daar ook de gelegenheid om wat van mijn miniaturen te kunnen verkopen, dus ben ik druk druk druk aan het werk en natuurlijk met de familiefeestjes ;) Nu ga ik lekker slapen, want ik ben erg moe.

I have seen that I have more then 100 followers:unbelievable, thank you!! But I have to wait to do a give away. Because I have an exposition in May:10 days together with some other artists. I get the opportunity to sell some of my miniatures. So at the moment I am very very busy with making miniatures (they are one of a kind) and.........I have birthday parties of course :) Now I am going to sleep, I am very tired.
