Voorbode van de lente..? / Harbinger of spring..?

Al een paar dagen is het een drukte van belang op het dak van mijn kippenhok…….het is een komen en gaan van een stelletje verliefde vogeltjes ;)! Zou het nu al lente worden, nee toch?

Since a few days, there is a lot to do on the roof of my hen house…….there are flying on and off a couple of small birds, who are in love ;)! Would it become spring already, so early?

Ik had zin om weer eens wat miniatuur vogeltjes te maken, zo kan het gebeuren dat er een paar huismusjes uit de Fimo klei tevoorschijn kwamen. Voor meer info: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huismus

 Wat een prutswerk is dat zeg, ze zijn maar 11-12 mm lang en bijna niet vast te houden.

I liked to make again some miniature birds, so it happened that there appeared a couple of small house sparrows out of the Fimo clay. For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_sparrow

What a pottering work is that, they are only 11-12 mm long and almost impossible to hold.

Om ze te beschilderen heb ik de spitse punt van een coctailprikkertje gebruikt, zulke smalle verfkwastjes heb ik niet .

To paint them I’ve used the pointed tip of a toothpick, because I haven't such tiny paintbrushes.

Oké, verder met het liefdesverhaal: na verloop van tijd verdwenen ze samen onder de dakpannen…….en daar steken sinds een paar dagen plukjes gras en stukjes stro onderuit ;D!

Okay, let's continue the love story: after some time they disappeared under the roof tiles together...... and since a few days there under are protruding some tufts of grass and pieces of straw ;D!

Vandaag, toen ze beiden net even weg gevlogen waren, heb ik de keukentrap gepakt om eens een kijkje te nemen onder die dakpan…..

Today, after they were both just flown away, I've taken the kitchen stairs to take a look under that roof tile ......

Dit was wat ik zag, toen ik voorzichtig de dakpan verschoof………

This is what I saw when I carefully removed the roof tile………..

……..7 prachtige versgelegde eitjes in hun nestje (je kunt er maar 5 zien)!

……..7 wonderful fresh laid eggs in their nest (you just can see 5 of them)!

Na een snelle blik heb ik gauw de dakpan teruggelegd, want de verontruste ouders kwamen terug.

 After a quick look, I’ve quickly laid back the roof tile, because the concerned parents came back.

Deze kip kwam langs en keek nogal gek op, toen ze het mussen echtpaar op de grond voor zich zag rondhippen ;).

This hen came along and looked like crazy, when she saw this couple of sparrows hopping around on the ground ;).
