Een fluitje van een cent…? / A piece of cake…?

Nee, dàt was het zeker niet!! Priegelwerk was het maken van Fluitenkruid (Anthriscus sylvestris) in miniatuur, nou nee, het was eerder om gek van te worden! Maar….ik heb deze plant al eens eerder gemaakt én kunnen verbeteren, dus ben ik zeer tevreden en blij met dit resultaat: hier is het :D

No, it definitely was not!! The making of Cow Parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris) in miniature was delicate work, ah no, it was rather for going nuts! But…. I have made this plant once before and I improved it now, so I am very satisfied and happy with this result: here it is :D

Op deze eerste foto’s was de plant nog niet klaar, het moest nog wat meer schermbloemen krijgen, iets meer volume…

On these first pictures the plant wasn't ready yet, it had to get some more umbellifers, a bit more volume...

En na 3 weken hard werken is de plant klaar!

And after 3 weeks of hard work the plant is ready!

Weet je waar de naam Fluitenkruid vandaan komt? Het schijnt dat je van een harde onderste gedeelte van de stengel een fluitje kunt snijden. Als je op dit zelfgemaakte fluitje blaast, geeft het een hoge pieptoon, probeer het maar eens ;).

The name 'Fluitenkruid' (literally translated into English) means something like ‘Whistle Herb’. 

Do you want to know where this name is from? It seems that you can make a whistle out from the lower hard piece of the stem of this herb. If you blow on this selfmade whistle it gives a high beep, maybe you can try it once ;).

Hier is momenteel een hittegolf aan de gang, dat is absoluut geen pretje als je niet tegen dit soort weertype kunt. De natuur snakt naar water, ondanks alle hevige hoosbuien op veel plekken in Nederland hebben wij het in onze streek al 4 weken praktisch droog gehouden. Groene weilanden en akkers beginnen al akelig geel te verkleuren, da’s niet best! Ik moet ook geregeld aan mijn gezinnetje Pimpelmees denken, hun jonkies zijn slechts één dag nadat ik over hen een blogbericht schreef uitgevlogen. Ik hoop dat ze het goed maken ;)!

At this moment we suffer of a heatwave in The Netherlands, absolutely no fun if you can’t stand this type of weather. Despite of heavy down pours on many places in our country, free nature in my region needs urgently water, as we haven’t had any rain for more than 4 weeks now having temperatures of 25-30 oC. Our usual green meadows and fields are now discoloring to yellow, that’s not good! I also have to think of my family of Bluetits, whose babies have left their nest just one day after I posted a blog about them. I hope they are doing fine ;)!

Geïnspireerd door een herfstwandeling / Inspired by an autumn walk

Allereerst wil ik jullie hartelijk bedanken voor jullie fijne reacties op mijn vorige blogbericht :)! 

First of all, I want to thank you so much for your great comments on my previous blog post :)!

Aan het eind van die blogpost liet ik jullie een foto zien met dahlia’s, die foto heb ik gemaakt tijdens een van mijn wandelingen hier in de buurt. Ik werd helemaal vrolijk bij het zien van deze dahlia’s in combinatie met de koeien, die lekker in de zon lagen te soezen. 

At the end of this blog post I showed you a picture of dahlia’s, I’ve made that picture during one of my walkings here in the region. I became so cheerful of seeing these dahlias along the field in combination with the drowsy cows, lying in the sun.

Thuis gekomen bleven die vrolijke dahlia’s mij in gedachten bezig houden en afgelopen week heb ik geprobeerd om ze in miniatuur te maken. Zo’n vrolijke bos dahlia’s op de vaas, in verschillende soorten en kleuren, doen mij terug denken aan de bloementuin bij de boerderij van mijn grootouders.

After I came back home those cheerful dahlia's kept me busy and this past week I’ve tried to make them in miniature. Such a bouquet of dahlias, in different sorts and colors, recalled me of the flower garden at the farm of my grandparents.

In het voorjaar staat er veel Fluitenkruid (Anthriscus sylvestris) langs de wegen en paden, het lijkt dan net of er ‘kant’ in de bermen groeit. Ook deze plant heb ik geprobeerd te maken in miniatuur. Dit was erg moeilijk, maar met deze laatste poging ben ik wel tevreden ;O.

Here, in The Netherlands, in spring there grows lots of Anthriscus sylvestris, known as cows parsley, than it looks if there's growing 'lace', along the roads and the paths. I’ve also tried to make this plant in miniature. It was very difficult to do, but I’m quite satisfied with my latest attempt ;O.

In mei, nadat ik mijn jonge olijfboompje had gesnoeid, leek het mij leuk om ook een olijftakje in miniatuur na te maken, dus hier mijn resultaat.

Het aardewerk is gemaakt door Marike Schenning, zij staat eind september ook op de DHN-show in Arnhem.

In May, after I pruned my young olive tree, I thought it would be nice to make a olive branch in miniature, so here is the result.

The red earthenware is made by Marike Schenning, she is also participating the DHN-show in Arnhem at the end of September.

Ik hoop dat je de verkleuring van oranjerood naar rood op de tomaatjes te zien is..?

Tomaattjes zijn gemaakt van Fimoklei en bloemendraad.

I hope you can the discoloration from orange red to red at the tomatoes..?

Tomatoes are made of Fimo clay and floral wire.

Zoals mij vaker gebeurt: van het een komt vaak het ander, dus de stap om een schotel met verse mozzarella caprese te maken, was zo gezet. De tomatenschijfjes zijn van een oude Fimoklei cane, die ik ooit op een beurs heb gekocht. De bol mozzarella is “vers” gemaakt van Fimoklei, er ligt nog wat melkachtige vloeistof onder de mozzarella, dat is vocht van het uitlekken ;).

As often happens to me: one thing lead to another, so the step for making a delicious dish with fresh mozzarella was inevitable. The slices of tomato come from an old cane of Fimo clay, which I’ve ever bought at a miniature fair. The mozzarella is “freshly” made out of Fimo clay, there is still some milky moisture under the mozzarella, that’s from leaking out ;).

Vanmiddag heb ik nog een fietstocht gemaakt in de omgeving, het is zo mooi buiten. Ook nu wéér een foto met koeien, sorry, maar als je goed kijkt...

This afternoon I’ve made a bike ride, it’s so beautiful outdoors. Again it's a picture of cows, sorry, but if you look well....

….kun je zien dat ze “buren” in prachtige herfstkleuren hebben:

een groot veld vol met pompoenen!
